In my humbly doodly opinion, yes, its cheating.

You are getting the youngsters way earlier than the other players (which is not fun, coz by then you will be the elite team, godlike, etc. etc.)

Well, if any of you were to play till 2020-????, you will know how hard it is to actually scout 'em. It's either they have godlike physical attribute but seriously crap mental + skill.

And like someone mentioned it, even scouts with 20/20 couldnt make most of his judgement correctly.

Well.. I'm not forcing anyone to use it. Just a sharing though. I believe this utility is made because there is requirement on it. And I believe it's very suitable for those working adult who got only a few hours a day to play FM, it's really ease our pain. We are not those bunch that going to play FM for more than 5 seasons, probably just 3 seasons already feel bored, so this utility is just to fasten up the scouting process.

Hmm... you cant, I mean, by manually. Only by FM Genie you can do so as a player value depends on what club they are in now, current ability, potential ability, their current form, etc.

Well... whether using Genie is cheating or not, I guess we leave that issue alone as I dont which a flame war triggered in this community. And seriously, from those bunch of kids that I got via Genie, I doubt all of them will become starplayers, you know, some might "senget" a bit (some might cannot adapt to English life, some attitude no good) when they grow and they end up will never become the starplayer afterall, even they got talent. Like the comment in Genie, they use the phrase "this guy CAN BE AS GOOD AS ..." instead of "this guy WILL BE AS GOOD AS..." Because too much factors are contributing to how a kid grow.

Genie has been updated to its now perfect stage since FM 2007 is released till the new patch came in. So I believe, where there is demand, there is always supply.

Wah... you play until that certain extend ?? You have my salute man. I have no idea on that though. Whether the kids grew to star player or not, it comes back to your training schedule and whether you assign the right mentor to the kid or not. I got a kid with 197 PA, I'm tapping my eye real close on him to see what will he become in the next 2 seasons.

Just like to ask something about tactic, did anyone ever use the swap position before ?? What I would like to know is, once you applied the swap position, do you see the two positions exchanged their position in the FORMATION (after you confirm and back to the scoreboard screen) ??

I remember it happened last time until recently I change something to the game system (er... cannot disclosed what I change because it will lead to warez talking, you know I know lar har) and now it didnt change the position so I have no matter whether the swap position is working or not.

I've no idea how to use the swap position.

As for me, I'm having difficulties in my South American players. Once they have international duties (which is unavoidable), half of my team are gone (including injuries). I have no choice but to put odd players in position where they not keen of..

That's the main reason I see non-EU players as my last resort. I know there are plenty of potential star players, but when it comes to international duty, ah, forget about it. Moreover, work permit and the EPL foreign player rules also limit the number of foreigner you can bring in, and I like to use rotation system to my team so foreigner is always my last resort.

Same case, but for Wang Dalei.

Everytime its the first leg of UEFA Cup matches (be it Semi, Quarter) He's never there, always on international duty. Once I sold off Oscar Ustari, I had no more keeper left for UEFA Cup o_o

Lucky I was able to re-register a few players back into the squad.

About that, I once pressed auto selection, only 2 GKs were selected, one was injured for a few months, one was always away for international duty. I was so pissed off, I had to reload. :/

swap position will be activated during matches itself. Player will exchange places with the player that you linked to swap places. Like Giggs taking on C.Ronaldo places and vice versa. This will at least make havoc at the defense if either one marked kao kao

there is once in my game that half of my team gone, yes, first team player gone for that cup leaving me with those injured player and second crap fiddle (before the fix patch was release). Struggling man.

It should be reflected once you start the game right ?? What I mean is, let say your default tactic is 442 then before the match start you change to 532. At the FORMATION, you should notice that your formation is changed to your latest modification, 532. Does it apply to swap position as well ?? Yea, swap position is one of the small tweaking you can do to your team to panic opponent defense. I like that idea for MU as Park and Ronaldo are the perfect couple for this trick.

Heh, I remembered that is the only time I pray for my players to be under-perform LOL "When this sangkala national team want to lose ?!" is the thing that always come into my mind when such thing happend

I dunno, I did my swap thingy with my winger and L/RB, like in real life where if the L/RB goes up attacking and get caught out, the winger will go down and cover for him, and it stuck even tho I change the formation

Er... make sure Ribery can play left and right side too. One key note on using swap position is to make sure the two players can play each other side. Dont go and swap on DR with a DL then you are giving trouble to your own self.

How do you guys train a player into a new position?
How long does it take?

1) Go to his profile by clicking his name.
2) Under training, there's an option for new position or something similar.
3) Normally it would take half a season, if I'm not mistaken.

Give it half a season. He should be able to adopt the new position by then.
