maybe u can remove the extension and use it only when required instead of leaving it attached all the time to prevent leak ?

All I can say is not much noise of vehicle or tyre sound from outside, it's just wind noise. Like I mentioned earlier, try winding down the window an inch or a few cm when speeding, that's the nearest sound description (it is that loud). Unless you're sitting in my car, don't have a better way to describe it.

Don't think sound insulation (those sticking materials inside the door) will help in this case as the noise is coming from the upper glass window.

This is definitely a disappointment I have with this car, but all in all, still a happy subaru owner. The driving experience is superior, e.g. handling, speeding, FC, seating space, interior & exterior design.

By the way, the hill start assists is sweet, especially useful during jam on slopes. Hmm, don't see to many people mentioned it here 

your impreza which version? frameless door or framed door type?
if frameless version, first thing u should check is the rubber gusset triangle at the sidemirror base...could be torn/harden

On a side note, I have some friends who own Mazda3 laughing at my car's interior for being so outdated and still having an ancient CD/FM/AUX HU and without touch screen infotainment.

But please don't make too many assumption. Why do you think I didn't do those test driver & review before purchasing this car? Also, are you suggesting that everyone that voice their problem should spent the same amount of time that you went through before posting?

Read previous reviews & other forum threads that previous XV models has multiple spots that leak sounds for outside. Those are expected. When test drive XV before buying, I particularly pay attention to these noise and indeed, the test drive car have minimum (if not none) noise. When I got the car, first 1k was break-in period so I didn't push it too much but after 1k, the wind noise starts appearing as I cruise to 80 km/h onwards. As much as the wind noise is uncomfortable, it's the disappointment of how Subaru malaysia (and its dealer) doing a lousy job addressing my complains. After visiting SC multiple (at least 4) times, I still didn't get a firm reply on this. Looks like it's going to be my own pocket money to fix this problem.

Boxer, AWD is one of those many strong points of Subaru. Does this mean Subaru can/should ignore other aspects (customer service, warranty claim, service quality & etc)? One of the reason I choose Subaru is it's praise sing by other countries customer, was hoping that Subaru would clone those quality to Malaysia. Obviously, it's far from it. Don't get me started on QC of this car.

On the sealing rubber, it was a test. It at least help to find out the noise came from weather strip. Not glass window or side mirror.

seems like Subaru's discount very unpredictable ler :/ wonder if it'll affect the resale value anot

Actually, am curious on how other scoobies FC perform. Mine is really bad as to my standards la.

ver 10 STi - 9km/l
legacy GT - 8.6km/l

hoping to get at least 10km/l but don't think will be able to. 100% city drive with light footed.

looks like cars (especially Subaru?)  is addictive. after having my first serious car, now i am dreaming of a fun car one day.
