Hey guys, I am going to test drive the mazda 3 this saturday. The sedan high spec version. So far I am witing for the new facelift to release then I will order this old model. So far I went through some of the pages on the thread but it is a lot. Generally I know it is a good car, just that any major issues I should know about? Thank you

QUOTE(vexus @ Mar 1 2017, 10:30 PM) FREE for 3 years/60k service, service outside the cost would be 5L engine oil, 1x engine oil filter and other parts change when it wear outspare parts price is slightly higher compare to toyota and honda counterpart but since is JDM, most of the reputable workshop should be able to handle it QUOTE(icechiller555 @ Mar 2 2017, 09:14 AM) Hey guys, I am going to test drive the mazda 3 this saturday. Thank you the "kruk kruk" and "ngek ngek" sound is the unsolvable issues for us, second is the expensive battery, hardly any major issueto all owners, please keep in mind that ATF for Skyactiv Drive should use back mazda ATF that is designed specifically for Skyactiv Drive |

QUOTE(vexus @ Mar 2 2017, 08:19 PM) is 3 years/60,000km FREE servicemost of us aren't even pass our warranty yet, but i can tell you normal maintenance wont cost more than RM400 just count it yourself, price tag can be easily found in online store (lelong, lazada, 11street): - 5L of engine oil of your choice - iridium spark plug change every 100,000 km - Brake fluid every 40,000 km - ATF every 20,000/40,000 km (mazda atf cost less than RM140) - coolant replace when needed (it wont cost more than RM50) - brake pad change when needed (RM 300+) your biggest concern would be the battery that usually die after 1.5 years, and tires that need to change every 3 years/tread worn out if this is not your first car, you should be able to gauge the cost for maintenance, it is the same as other cars, for spare parts probably slightly more compare to other JDM C-segment |

Not sure will void warranty or not but it is recommended to change at 20k or 40k interval, unless you plan to sell off your car soon then no need to change |

Just to confirm guys, is everyone here using RON95 for the car? Thanks
Guys, I need all of your honest opinion, everyone knows that the facelift might release soon, but all the dealers are saying not soon, info points that the release should be soon, however, will the price of the 2016 car drop a lot once the facelift comes out? I need to decide to buy the car soon, the old car road tax and insurance is coming up. Hehe. Just want to know what you guys think about getting it now or waiting. Thanks This post has been edited by icechiller555: Mar 3 2017, 07:48 AM |

Thanks I see a number of users using Ron97, I just use Ron95(just not from shell, the difference is noticeable) usually caltex or BHP.... Thanks I read somewhere that higher octane number is better for higher compression ratio, it's up to you to decide whether your car requires the 97 If you too much money to spend or you believe it gives much better power then go for it.. FC about the same for mixed driving, depends on how much of a heavy footer you are... My 75-80% uurban driving gives 8.0l/100km... ron 95 |

QUOTE(icechiller555 @ Mar 3 2017, 07:44 AM) Just to confirm guys, is everyone here using RON95 for the car? Thanks Why are you asking the petrol question? All manufacturer that brings their petrol range will surely work with RON95 in our market, 1000% no need to worry. The US counterpart can run on our RON91 equivalent, what more for us which is at least RON95?Guys, I need all of your honest opinion, everyone knows that the facelift might release soon, but all the dealers are saying not soon, info points that the release should be soon, however, will the price of the 2016 car drop a lot once the facelift comes out? I need to decide to buy the car soon, the old car road tax and insurance is coming up. Hehe. Just want to know what you guys think about getting it now or waiting. Thanks Yes, this engine is the highest stock compression engine in the market, but the ECU can adjust itself to the fuel you use. The factory tuning is also on the conservative and cautious side to take into account the possible worst case scenario. Adding RON97 won't make any financial sense, the negligible benefit you gain from engine "smoothness" (very subjective) and fuel economy (negligible, the traffic condition and your pedal modulation will have a much greater impact on this front). If you want to discuss about higher grade petrol than RON95, i'll give you some perspective. I tried few tanks of Petron 100 and Shell V Power Racing petrol before, almost no difference to my fuel economy with the way I drive although initially i thought it would. Forget the Shell V Power Racing, just go for the Petron RON100 if you really want high grade petrol. The acceleration does have a little noticeable improvement (more noticeable during a hot day), with some reduced vibration when revving (maybe this is what some people say "smoother" engine). I pump high grade petrol in as a preventative regime for the fuel system as these types of petrol have stronger/better additives and cleaning agents. I do that for 2 continuous tanks for every 5000km. But since petrol prices are breaking records now, I just forget it for the time being. -edit- I personally use BHP RON95 due to : 1) it is near my house 2) i believe in their marketing hype that they use double dose additive and also that their fuel is higher grade that what other brands RON95. 3) they give me 1 bottle of mineral water for every RM40 4) they give complimentary tyre shine/polish 5) the credit card i use give equivalent to 6% cash back when i pump with BHP This post has been edited by wkc5657: Mar 3 2017, 10:54 AM |

Hey guys, I am strongly leaning towards the Mazda 3 as my previous posts. However I read some very bad reviews on Facebook about the service centers having bad service. What are you experiences and is it really bad? I am driving a Honda now and so far no problems with their service. Thanks guys.

I've been to Federal Highway, good service but the SC manager is a dick. Glenmarie is poor, despite is HQ.Honda is not all good. Only know Jln 222 is the best and Sumber Auto is ok only. |

Hey guys was just wondering if anyone knows in the mazda 3 black edition: if the rims are gunmetal colour or powder black? the car looks so nice like this.
p/s: those are just photos of the car in other countries and the rims, I am just wondering if anyone knows the colour of the rims, just thinking if I do end up buying the mazda 3 that sort of modification might be an option. Thanks for all replies. This post has been edited by icechiller555: Mar 5 2017, 05:37 PM |
