QUOTE(FCRS @ May 10 2017, 01:21 PM) I've gotten the catalogue from a Mazda dealer today haven't test driven the new GVC yet. Can anyone confirm that the car has lane keep assist where the steering steers automatically to keep the car in the lane? I did sent this to mazda customer service and asked, their answer is yes, it does come with lane keep assist above 60km/h, means it will assist to steer if you are going to depart from your lane.I know there was LDW before where it only warns but having the steering assist seems to be something new. Edit: apologies for the sideways photo [attachmentid=8803580] the thing is this feature is not mentioned in the price list package and anywhere else, so it is still a question mark, let me test drive and update here or anyone else tested it then please enlighten us. |

QUOTE(shawnk @ May 10 2017, 04:40 PM) The brochure didn't say it would steer, it mentioned nudges and audio alert. brochure written "A forward sensing camera detects lane markings and assists the steering to keep you in lane. The system also alerts you when it judges an unintended lane departure is imminent by vibrating the steering wheel or with an audible alarm. The system operates at speeds above approximately 60km/h.Correct me if i'm wrong. |

QUOTE(FCRS @ May 11 2017, 04:49 PM) I personally think it is very useful. I've had a loan car from my friend who has the Ford Ranger Wildtrak which comes with Active Cruise Control and Lane Assist, I've tested the functions quite deliberately going off the lane and the steering steers back into the lane. It's really a beautiful system to use on highways. Roads on modern countries raised yes, basically with lane keep assist and active cruise control, it is already 'semi autonomous' to me.reflective lane markers which lane assist isn't needed, however in Malaysia don't spend money on these life saving things. Both are very important especially on long drives. With tiredness and momentarily lapse in concentration the car can help steer back into lane can help prevent accidents, it happens even to the best of us. No one intends to fall asleep behind the wheel, but if it does happen this will help. the car able to keep in the lane and keep a distance from the car in front, very useful and helpful for long distance highway drive. |

QUOTE(voncrane @ May 11 2017, 10:58 PM) Yah.. Though, been reading that most complain that mileage limit needs to be increased.. Say free service to 100km and five years or unlimited mileage.. Something like that.. well, I think 5 yrs and unlimited mileage should be standard that other brand offers.Edit: Seven years or unlimited mileage warranty.. 3 yrs free maintenance including oil, parts and labour is a bonus already in current market unless you drive a BMW, not sure about Benz and Audi, those free maintenance will be more than 3 yrs. |

QUOTE(voncrane @ May 11 2017, 10:48 PM) Sounds like haven't had to drive consistently with such features.. Let me ask.. Do you require airbags or even an airbag? Cuz a good and alert driver would never trigger their deployment. couldn't agree more. that's why if all cars should be make mandate to equip with all these features, especially AES + ACC and BSM + RCTA, that will help reduce a lot of minor accident from happening, reduce the unnecessary jam in traffic also.ACC, LDW & LKA are "active" systems and the idea is that they assist and not drive the car entirely.. Guess what, I've never been in an accident where my airbags deployed, however, I have been in slight bumper to bumper action and had to repair/repaint. Active safety systems such as the above and or the likes of SCBS and SBS will assist in preventing those rare times where someone accidentally or purposely breaks hard in front of you. Alternatively, say you have to apply the brakes in an emergency and the car behind you gets stopped by these systems cuz the car reacts faster than the driver of the vehicle. Thereby saving both car drivers some headache.. That's why they are important. |

QUOTE(lucifal @ May 12 2017, 10:16 AM) All GVC Mazda3 will be delivering around 3rd-4th week of this month. why stocks are limited for new car?Book early to avoid any disappointment, as stocks are limited. For those who want without GVC (cheaper by a 10k++), there's limited stocks of GLS (Highspec) Alum & GL (Mid Spec) Grey / White left |

QUOTE(voncrane @ May 12 2017, 10:28 AM) I agree ... My previous post was more on wishful thinking.. But hey, should they decide to do so? Fine with me.. IMO, the Skyactive engine is quite reliable and I'm rather more concerned with build quality. Then there's that noisy arm bush problem that seems to plague their vehicles.. I'm eyeing the CX-5 and that along with leather issues, seem to be the major problem. Hoping all these are resolved in the 2017 models. ya man, hope those problem with previous mazda will not appear in the new model lah.Haha.. Very true.. Preventing accidents will reduce some traffic jams, cuz either a lane or two is blocked or as we know, people simply slowing down to take a long peek.. Probably an overused marketing speak... I'm immune to such now and take my own sweet time... I don't reckon cars are flying off the shelves at Mazda like at say Honda. from the progress so far, they seems to really listen to consumer voice which is good, their customer service also very responsive, not like some other brands. |

QUOTE(wkc5657 @ May 16 2017, 10:32 AM) If you are thinking of upsizing the rim, just get a proper aftermarket 17 inch rims from konig, advanti, enkei, etc. Get original, not replica for your safety and product longevity. actually I am considering downsizing but prefer the original rim from Mazda.18 inch tyre prices are quite a jump compared to 17 inch. that is why I am asking anyone want to upgrade, I will swap with him/her. |

I wonder, the 2017 Mazda 3 GVC also don't have auto door lock right?
Like door lock when pressing brake pedal or speed sensing auto door lock? This post has been edited by peace_lover: May 19 2017, 02:29 PM |

QUOTE(Ginny88 @ May 19 2017, 06:40 PM) It probably don't have due to regulation but you can add in a plug and play accessory to have the doors lock when you step on the brake or put the gear into D. I read thru the forum I found that I have to do that at specific accessories shop and the price is quite costly and not fix.Any better recommendation? |
