Massa Can Upstage everyone
QUOTE Felipe Massa, and not Kimi Raikkonen, could be the one to win the World title for Ferrari this season, according to some F1 personalities. Massa has excelled in pre-season testing, dominating the timesheets at the recent test in Bahrain and breaking the circuit's lap record on the final day. However, for some, the Brazilian's rise, which also saw him win two grands prix last season, has come as a bit of a surprise. "I never believed Massa was so good," Renault team boss Flavio Briatore told Reuters. "If you asked me about Massa at the beginning of the season, I thought he was kind of medium. But give him the right car and he's terrific." The Ferrari driver has also received praise from former F1 driver Jacques Villeneuve. He recently told F1 Racing magazine: "Massa will probably take over as team leader. He did a really strong job last year, made a few mistakes but didn't look too shabby next to Michael. "He's intelligent, talented, quick. With the right equipment, he can be a title contender. Then we'll see if he's really a great, or just a good, driver. But he could be great." Another driver who believes Massa could challenge for this year's World title is reigning F1 Champ Fernando Alonso. "Everybody thought that Kimi (Raikkonen) was coming to Ferrari and staying ahead and being number one and now everybody's realised that Felipe is very quick as well," said Alonso last week. "For me it's not a surprise. Either of them can win." |

It just about time for Kimi to shine with Ferrari. I can see Kimi still struggling to makes himself comfortable with his new car. Same goes to Alonso. Anyway, Massa still a big contender to them to chase for the F1 title this year.

Somehow I see Fernando has been fitting better at McLaren than Kimi at Ferrari. While Kimi had to stack up with Massa which had already established himself there, Fernando had Lewis, which like him, is new at the team, thus fitting in for him is easier

Arrows was sponsored by Dutch telecomunication giant, Orange, thus it's no suprise (Spyker is a Dutch car maker)

Typo lor, DC at red bull. Look at the 1st post lor at the real line up
Added on March 10, 2007, 12:45 amTrivia - There will be only 1 driver in the whole grid that has won the World Championship - This will be the first time since 1997 that the winning team from the previous season does not use the no 1 car. The last time was when Hill won the 96 World Championship but was dropped for Frentzen in 1997. He took the no 1 to Arrows - McLaren will run with an all new line up for the first time since Ron Dennis taken charge of the team - There will be 4 brits on the grid, making them the largest nationality from which a driver comes from. Next is German, which is 3. Ironically, if Nico Rosberg had been a Finn like his father, than it's the Finn that would be second. - Ferrari will be the only team sponsored by a Tobacco company - Only 4 teams on the grid are still the same team from which it started, which is Ferrari, McLaren, Williams, and Toyota. All the other teams are owned/known by a different name some time in their history. This post has been edited by linkinstreet: Mar 10 2007, 12:45 AM |
