Whatever it is, I'm just hoping the drilling (exploration & development) activities are picking up back and more awards materialise.

I pray the same too!

My current project will end in 3Q 2017. If no more development, then I may be out of job. sweat.gif

*

Any knows which field in PM3 this 2 platforms will be installed?

===============================

Repsol to invest RM600mil in oil & gas projects

LABUAN: Repsol Oil and Gas Malaysia Ltd is investing about RM600mil for the construction of two oil platforms and in drilling several wells.
The platforms are to be constructed at Peninsular Malaysia 3 (PM3) near the border with Vietnam and at Medan Kinabalu off Sabah waters.
The company’s communication, government relations and community senior general manager Farid Jaafar said works for the projects would start at year-end and early next year respectively.
He said the projects would generate employment and business opportunities for locals.
“Despite the slowdown in the oil and gas sector, Repsol is still expanding due to our commitment and business strategy,” he added.
Farid told reporters this after presenting the Repsol Initiative and Motivation Awards for UPSR and PT3 Outstanding Students of the Fishermen’s Community in Labuan on Wednesday.
He said the company had not implemented any downsizing or staff retrenchment.
Repsol Malaysia, a subsidiary of the Repsol Group based in Madrid, Spain, is an integrated oil and gas company operating in 40 countries.
In Malaysia, Repsol has been carrying out crude oil operations and natural gas production in the area bordering Malaysia and Vietnam since 2001, and also off the coast of Sabah since 2013.
Meanwhile, Farid said Repsol would continue to play its part in rendering assistance to people at large, especially the needy, as part of its corporate social responsibility.

Repsol builds oil platforms in Sabah and Peninsular as part of its business expansion

BUSINESS

10 February 2017

LABUAN – Repsol Oil & Gas Malaysia Limited is investing some RM600 million to build two oil platforms in Sabah and Peninsular waters, as part of the company’s business expansion in Malaysia.

The two offshore production facilities are currently being fabricated by Oceanmight Sdn Bhd (OMSB) at their yard in Kuching.

Farid Jaafar, the Company’s Senior General Manager for Communications, Government and Community Relations said the project has given employment to over 700 contract workers at OMSB in Kuching.

The two facilities will be installed in mid 2017 for the Kinabalu field offshore Sabah waters and 2018 for the PM3 field in Terengganu waters.

Farid shared this update recently after handing over incentives from Repsol to 50 UPSR and PT3 recipients who hail from the fishermen community in Labuan.

padan muka Shell.

they were rumored to have spent hundreds of millions of dollars for GKA concept work in the US without cost control, much to the chagrin of Petronas. and later ended up with an underdesigned floater that needed some time to rectify.

I was offered Petroleum Engineering UTM Before..

I am always bombarded with bad news in it..

How is the job opportunity really is now? And what about it in 6 Years Later.. ? Is it really bad?
*
No one has a crystal ball bigger than yours.

It's hard to predict the oil and gas industry in 6 years time. But one thing is sure that we will still need fossil fuel in our future lives.

For now you should focus on your study and aim for a first class honours degree. You will have a better chance of landing a job with excellent grades.
