btw, malaysia have deepwater potential? as in deepwater reservoirs, other than gumusut and malikai area...?

Is it normal for o&g project to have its contract documents late? i.e 4 months into the project still haven't got the official copy from the client?

So how is the increment like this year since oil price has increased to $50 - $55. Mine still as bad as last year.

SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd has bagged five contracts totalling US$300mil or RM1.34bil including to provide its underwater services, offshore installation work and rigs.

The oil ang gas heavyweight said on Monday its unit SapuraKencana Subsea Services Sdn Bhd was awarded a two-year contract to provide underwater services for Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.

It said the work included underwater services together with vessels, air and saturation diving, remotely operated vehicle and other related underwater services. The services included inspection, maintenance and repair to support Petronas Carigali's underwater facilities offshore Peninsular Malaysia.

The second contract involved SapuraKencana GeoSciences Sdn Bhd providing soil investigation services for one year in the Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak/Sabah operation areas.

Its third contract was for SapuraKencana TL Offshore Sdn Bhd to provide Hyundai Heavy Industries with offshore installation work of BNCPP-B jacket, foundation piles and bridge structure between BNCPP-B to BNG-B.

The contract would be in East Malaysia and work was expected to start in the Q1, 2017.

As for the fourth job, SapuraKencana TL Offshore was awarded a 12-month contract by Repsol Oil & Gas Malaysia Ltd to provide transportation and installation of pipeline and topside for the Bunga Pakma development project.

Under the fifth contract, SapuraKencana Drilling was hired by Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd to provide its tender assist drilling rig “SKD Alliance”. The contract is scheduled to start in April 2018 for a firm period of five years with options to extend for an additional five years.

Repsol to invest RM600mil in oil & gas projects

LABUAN: Repsol Oil and Gas Malaysia Ltd is investing about RM600mil for the construction of two oil platforms and in drilling several wells.
The platforms are to be constructed at Peninsular Malaysia 3 (PM3) near the border with Vietnam and at Medan Kinabalu off Sabah waters.
The company’s communication, government relations and community senior general manager Farid Jaafar said works for the projects would start at year-end and early next year respectively.
He said the projects would generate employment and business opportunities for locals.
“Despite the slowdown in the oil and gas sector, Repsol is still expanding due to our commitment and business strategy,” he added.
Farid told reporters this after presenting the Repsol Initiative and Motivation Awards for UPSR and PT3 Outstanding Students of the Fishermen’s Community in Labuan on Wednesday.
He said the company had not implemented any downsizing or staff retrenchment.
Repsol Malaysia, a subsidiary of the Repsol Group based in Madrid, Spain, is an integrated oil and gas company operating in 40 countries.
In Malaysia, Repsol has been carrying out crude oil operations and natural gas production in the area bordering Malaysia and Vietnam since 2001, and also off the coast of Sabah since 2013.
Meanwhile, Farid said Repsol would continue to play its part in rendering assistance to people at large, especially the needy, as part of its corporate social responsibility.
