PSA Warning on #Celcom phone care plan. I was encouraged to pay an additional rm33 p/mth for insurance against lost or damaged phone so I can get a replacement. So, I cracked my phone screen, and want to make a claim. Celcom asked me to call their Phone Care provider, and they told me that I have to pay rm550 service charge to replace my phone and on top of that it could be a refurbished phone with only 6 months warranty. If the phone is spoiled after 6 months, u pay another rm550 for replacement. Not happy so I called Celcom who didn't seem to understand my problem and told me to wait 3-7 working days to revert to me. Feel cheated coz this wasn't communicated to me when I sign up for the plan. Now am waiting for both Celcom and Their not so caring Phone Care provider to revert and have to live with this screen and crappy 4G coverage till then.

All they care about is cheating their clients, sending 'premium (my ass) smses' to cause people to lose credits; even charging people for calling their helpline; pretending to be living in the stone age by NOT creating an app for the customers so that we could not keep tabs on our credit or internet quota balance; choosing to waste money elsewhere like paying world-class celebs/footballers in their tv ads instead of on better marketing techniques and service innovation; last but not least, striving ever so boldly to be the scum among all telcos. Then they start selling insurance policies? I think even Hitler can sell me one if the only other rival is Celcom.. This post has been edited by WongPhan: Jul 16 2016, 04:27 PM |

Playing the victim card Indeed best logic in 2016 #BestLogic2016 Swap: Phone is still in your possession, and you feel like wanting to change to another phone for whatever reasons Swap and replace: Phone no longer in your possession, and you want to get a replacement In this case, you are swapping, that's why you are charged rm550 since it's iphone 6 and above From your hashtag, maxis also will impose some fee if you need replacement for your phone, and you also will get a refurbished phone Do exercise your right as customer to ask everything about this thing until you are clear And read the contract clause, they are there for a reason Be a smart consumer |

I guess refurbished with warranty is acceptable but to pay RM550 for a service charge after paying the insurance is not cool #iwantmymaxisback #celomphonecaresucks #feelcheatedbycelcom #celcomsucks #scam |

QUOTE(DellMalaysia @ Jul 17 2016, 09:46 AM) I guess refurbished with warranty is acceptable but to pay RM550 for a service charge after paying the insurance is not cool For celcomFor maxis Basically both have to pay Maxis has % rate to pay, but celcom is fixed price From what I see, if you swap your iphone in first 6 month, maxis is more worth it if your iphone cost less than rm3667, more than that celcom is better But if you lost it after a year, you pay less for replacement if you take celcom since maxis doesn't care how many month you are paying the insurance, the amount you need to pay is 50% of your device rrp |

But won't it be much more expensive if you didn't pay for the insurance?
Maybe the replacement of a new refurbished phone would cost thousand. |

was forced to sign up phone care for at least 2 months when i sign up the first platinum + p9 package. was told can phone care can be canceled via 1111 after 2 months. guess what? called 1111 numerous times and every time got disconnected. tried online chat, was told to go to their centre, went to their centre was told to call 1111. managed to get through 1111, was told to call phone care toll free. call phone care toll free, was told to go to centre. i just lost it and F 9 the call agent. til now phone care still not canceled. will go to celcom centre tomorrow to create a big fuss

Guess I am the lastest victim got con into signing up this PhoneCare thing. Celcom sale people is really not transparent and mislead customer into/forcing to commit to this plan.
Already call 1111 and lodge an official complain and request for refund. RM35 not much but x syok kasi ppl scam nia |

I was definitely not informed about the monthly charges. I just felt strange why my bill always got an extra charge after I got the new phone last december. Then I looked into this phone care thing, and turns out it is not at all free for swap or replace? So why am I paying this every month?
I want to terminate this but seems like it's a bit complicated? I tried the chat, they say to email. Sent an email, they told me to call. Ugh. See what else they want.. --- Oh and also, turns a lot of people didn't know about this phone care charge too. My friends only found out after I asked to check their bill.
