if too hot i want using this custom fan , just order it from taoboa (below RM20) ...too many special thing can do with this router (TM-ac68 u ) than huawei ws 880  rclxs0.gif

Me to tried use this setup before. Using 2 USB fan stick behind router. After 2-3 months, dust all over the back of my ac68u. And the fan kaput as well.

As everyone mentioned, the router is capable of handling heat. So im not so worry about it. Running ac68u for 2 years now.

My ac1900@ac68u put in a closed cabinet cpu temp reached 85c. After install 2 cooler fan, cpu temp stable at 65c and wifi temp below 50c.

This will attract dust at the back of the router.

Been there done that

he place inside closed cabinet, maybe no dust.
if place on top of cabinet, sure a lot of dust.

Dust is everywhere. The fan will attract the dust faster.

Even if its a tmobile ac1900, its still an Asus. I prefer to use Asus all because of the firmware.

U worried to much about heat. It was designed to handle it. My ac68u(non tmobile) runs at 82’C for almost 3 years now haha still kick ass.

that's why i need a higher gain ac router

I dont think it makes any difference. But u can install another 5ghz AP via powerline or cable. Avoid wireless repeater.

Is there a significant difference of AC coverage of RT-AC68U vs WS880 (on merlin) ? That big?

More or less the same
