suicide. unless that's not your proc, can try higher

just mess with 3.6Ghz with 1.56vcore. orthos lived for 5 1/2 hours before the volcano exploded. consider stable? i dun think so...

if go for WC, thermaltake product is not recommend. better stick for thermalright 120 Extreme.

Don't go for TT big water, dun waste ur money.....
If really wana go for decent WC, better prepare money above RM600++... Or else, stick with air cooling will be better.
A RM200-300 WC kit just able to give u a air cooling performance only...

either way, you guys think if i buy a better arctic thermal paste and reapply it would lower my heat issue? cores closing being around 100celcius is definitely NOT a good thing, even if it passed orthos 12 hours. (yes my 3.07 or 3.0 or 3.1 ghz whatever you wanna round it to qx6700 managed to pass orthos 12 hours)

i suggest you do something with your proc. cool it by all meant lol. 100C is not norm, it's EXTREME, no pun intended..

try lapping your VX or try open/no case environment

can clarify on lapping my vx? dont quite understand that.

also its currently running at 40-50celcius temp on probe/BIOS monitor and 60-70ish on core temp... didnt seem so extreme as compared to orthos stress for 12 hours XD

regardless i would like to lower the temp, be it prolonging my proc lifespan (like it'll happen being overvolted minorly and oc'ed lol) or further oc'ing   

on pure idle it can get as low as 55-60ish on core temp, core die from pc probe/mother board reading doesnt change though.
mmm...well 55-60 on idle is considered high already, at least for a dual core...

Too low. E6600 should go 3.5GHz wthout much effort. Of course your RAM need to oc well together.

i feel u should check ur HSf since 85c load at 1.38v pretty high
i use vcore 1.48v for my e66 but load at 88c.. almost same with u but my voltage sure higher

which temp should i trust? headache. speedfan/TAT/coretemp or easytune5/bios? former give very high reading while latter give low temp reading.

is't possible for TTBT VX cooling e6600 to 35C? v1.36 idle

hmm my air flow is intake at front, exhaust at back/top... not sure if changing the direction would help... nor would experimenting it be easy, im using the antec180p and moving stuffs inside it is a lil hard >_<
