AmBank will call supplementary for verification, so make sure your supplementary holders are reachable.

In my sister's case, cannot register OTP. I applied for WMC for her solely for the following reasons:

1. Get free luggage bag for supp card application (haven't received yet, but received call last week saying it will be delivered soon). Already promised to give the bag to my maid.

2. Airport lounge access - she travels A LOT but has no income as she's currently on 1 year university programme in Shanghai (hence the expired Malaysian phone number). In the past 3 months alone, she's used the KL, London, Shanghai and HK airports several times.

Apart from the qualifying expenditure to get the free luggage bag, she doesn't use the card for anything. Her credit limit only RM2k haha.

My usual approach with all CC is....... Just apply and max out benefits while they last .

I just got to know that we need to make separate payments to both principal & supplementary cards, I thought just pay the principal the full amount and AmBank will sort out the rest.

I thought this is strange as both cards com at the same statement but the CS insisted that because both principal & supplementary cards are different 'class', hence we need to make separate payments.

FYI, I am referring to WMC.

Ambank CS have always said that you need to make separate payments. HOWEVER, if you really want to make only one payment, you can pay all to your principal and ask Ambank CS to transfer the respective amounts to your supplementary cards. This is what I do sometimes when the amounts on supps are very small. However, make sure you do this well in advance of your payment due date.
Principal can request for all the supp points to be transferred to principal for redemption. I did this for the recent redemption. Combined everything to get the RM100 rebate.

It has been like this for ages. Even when paying with cheque, you'll still need to fill in the form specify how much payment for principal and supplementary.

Because it's your responsibility. Why would they help you for free? You don't pay then only they earn.

It's just their process and policy which they are free to determine. I agree it is not efficient or logical, but that's their system.

CS will just tell you there's nothing that can be done.
