i've been paying maxis/umobile/unifi/astro, all eligible for promo cb.

not much savings. not worth the trouble since going thru many channels: card > shopee > seller > tnb. many issues can go wrong between your card till your tnb account gets updated with payment.

if got at least 5% discount, the worth the trouble.

pay via mytnb portal is better, immediate update, and cb eligible.

yeah, hopefully can work. but need to know few variables whether shopee is eligible, transaction date, etc.

another matter is privacy issue since you're giving details to shopee n seller. how about trustworthiness?

then need to worry how fast payment is reflected in tnb account since some sellers promises SLA between 1-7 days, some 1-3 days. the payment is at seller's mercy

if my interpretation of shopee is correct, shopee is the platform for sellers to provide services.

these sellers help you by paying your bills, on your behalf, at discount price. e.g. u want to pay RM50 tnb bill, seller sell his service at discount rate of RM49.70 (example). then, they pay your tnb bill on your behalf. you get cb for payment thru shopee (still tbc if eligible or not) and also discounted tnb bill.

if you noticed, sellers asks for your tnb account number, bill number (may be optional), name, contact number, etc.

it's similar to asking your friend (1:1 or one-to-one) to pay your tnb bills only that shopee platform is 1:many (you deal with all sellers in shopee)


the benefits of these sellers, that i could think of, is probably using their cc with high cb % (e.g. hlb wise or pbb vs or mbb vs), then discount you about 1% or lesser (some as low as 0.1%, i think). they earned few cb % by spending none of their own money using their own cc.

last time someone reported, min 34k to pledge, cl is 1:1. fd is board rate, not promo rate.

you cant uplift the fd and keep the card. really not worth locking your hard-earned 34k just for a card and for its rm600 max annual cashback.

unless, of course, you has no use for the 34k.

still have few more quota from 2 supp cards to play around. since the promo ending Feb, i'm planning to overpay some future bills, each week from now on.

also to be careful not to overspend until monthly quota burst (est rm833 per month)
