QUOTE(_ChAoS_ @ May 4 2017, 10:08 AM) There is no 'normal' Siegfried unless you are talking about Sigfried and Siegfried+Super Pack. There is a Bandai model kit 1:72 scale. There is a Bandai DX 1:60 scale. There is a TomyTec prepainted kit 1:144 scale. There are also some non scale really small one. |

Thanks for the input guys. I have bought a 1/72 Bandai Siegfried previously. It's still unassembled, but then i saw also a different Bandai DX Chokogin version of the same Siegfried with a much higher price. So i was curious. Heh. So the difference is mainly on the materials and possible new features huh.

So the difference is mainly on the materials and possible new features huh. The 1:60 DX chogokin is preassembled and pre painted already. Take it out of the box and play right away. Its also has metal parts, different internal in some parts, and a lot more sturdier than the 1:72 version. For the 1:72 version, you need to assemble and apply sticker (there are two different version of sticker), or paint it. You can always leave it free of sticker or paint though. I still got my super white VF-25. There's also chances that you may damage it beyond repair during assembly. The Super Pack for the 1:60 DX is also a snap on only. On the other hand, the Super Pack for the 1:72 Siegfried needs to be assembled, and you need to replace some of the parts from the 1:72 Siegfried itself with parts from the Super Pack. So if you want to both the normal and Siegfried and Super Siegfried, you better buy two Siegfried. If you keep on changing the parts, you;re going to break it. In any case the DX 1:60 Siegfried not much different than the 1:72 version. The DX 1:60 Draken III on the other hand is a lot different than the 1:72 version. I like to build models but for Macross or other franchise, once you experienced the toy, it is hard to go back. Macross is better in this case since it is a transforming toy

For the 1:72, some of the important internal parts are so thin and prone to damage. Make me really feel like want to take that part, and make a metal diecast for it at the moulding factory nearby. If only they would agree and not charge much.

QUOTE(drydenccm @ May 5 2017, 02:16 PM) and if I may add, it's basically tauhu vs rock-steady-awesome-macross hence the price difference.... if you can afford it, there's a saying... once you go chogokin, you can't go back... QUOTE(zemega @ May 5 2017, 05:56 PM) I need help. My 1:72 Draken wings got droopy already. I know I can use some glue to thicken the joint. I'm just wondering if there is any locking mechanism in the 1:60 version. Or its just a better joint on the DX version. I guess that's the only way. Yes, the DX version has locking. |

Bit the bullet and order the DX Draken off HLJ. Hopefully no issues with the delivery; having it sent to my office in Bangsar South, which have a mailing address so long I had to 'trim' some words and spaces to fit into HLJ's ridiculously limited textbox
