I think the Asus Strix GTX 1080 is the best in terms of build/component quality. Performance between brand is negligible. If not Asus, I'd say the MSI GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G. The MSI is eye wateringly good (physically).

Yeah this, people even try to lowball and say things like 2nd hand price of 970 will drop till rm500, and trying to sabotage the threads of people trying to sell their 970 at a reasonable price.

Yeah.. 1080p/GTX 970. If I ever plan to go G-Sync/4k/VR... then will consider upgrading. Moving to RX 480 from a GTX 970 though is illogical.

ehhh, now this one you have to be careful.

In my tests vs REF GTX 970, the RX480 is slightly behind in most cases (DX11) while being able to outrun by far on Shadow of Mordor.

Overclocked GTX 970 only other hand is another story altogether, and a super heavily OCed GTX 970 can reach almost GTX 980 level.

Based on Malaysia price, RX480's price to performance ratio is pretty much like the cheapest GTX 1070.

Power to performance ratio, RX480 is not as good as GTX 1070.

Obviously rx480 is not a good choice in malaysia. Better go for rm1999 gtx 1070.

Even if you can find it for RM 1500, you have to consider that a little bit more can get you a GTX 1070.

Yes, I've never noticed this much of sabotage, as far as I can remember dating back to Kepler or Maxwell. But this time around, just plain annoying. Quoting that this "RM800" card is going to magically bury GTX 970 and 980, or even trade blows with a 1070.

Regardless, RX 480 was never conceived to compete with GTX 1070 / 1080. It just aims to bring affordable performance into that sub $200 - 250 price bracket. I think that it did, just not in Malaysia market. But now hearing this fiasco (can I say it has finally qualified as one?) about possibly burning motherboards, can I say this is the same magnitude as GTX 970's 3.5GB fiasco?
