RX 480 outperforms the GTX 970 on average but... far behind the GTX 1070 (expected it to be closer). At this rate, I think GTX 1060 might be faster than the RX 480.

Still, for those on an ancient/ageing card wanting to play the latest games at highest settings 1080p, this is an amazing buy.

Bang for the buck indeed. As in the bang you'll hear when your motherboard goes up in smoke. Hopefully just the motherboard, coz it'll no longer be a "budget system" when you have to replace everything.

...so finally a GTX 1080? biggrin.gif

I think the Asus Strix GTX 1080 is the best in terms of build/component quality. Performance between brand is negligible. If not Asus, I'd say the MSI GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G. The MSI is eye wateringly good (physically).

Yeah this, people even try to lowball and say things like 2nd hand price of 970 will drop till rm500, and trying to sabotage the threads of people trying to sell their 970 at a reasonable price.

Well gotta learn to be content with what you have. I love my 970 still  biggrin.gif

Yeah.. icon_rolleyes.gif 1080p/GTX 970. If I ever plan to go G-Sync/4k/VR... then will consider upgrading. Moving to RX 480 from a GTX 970 though is illogical.

Tempted by <RM2k GTX 1070. But then again, I game at 1080p only and currently on a GTX 970 which is quite sufficient. Would make more sense to upgrade my display to at least 1440p.

Tempted, but in no hurry... as the wiseman says, "Poison is stronk."

So small... laugh.gif Imagine this size and able to beat the Titan X.

I'm waiting for Leadtek, not among the elitist but could be the lowest priced GTX 1070.

That's Friday's new. biggrin.gif

I even wrote an article on predicted performance!

And price wise it should be RM 6k+++

Haha... just so happen to miss out on the reveal/announcement. biggrin.gif

Interestingly that this is a 'Titan X' not a 'GeForce Titan X'. hmm.gif

TITAN X has to be 50-60% faster than the GTX 1080 to justify its price tag... which I highly doubt will happen.

If it is indeed 20-25% faster than the GTX 1080 as speculated, not worth it.

Then again, it is aimed at 'prosumers'.

Will wait for reviews this August.

Got people speculate that low?

My speculation is 40% increase.
*
Yeap, based on the specs. 40% is much more 'reasonable' I guess (GeForce Titan X was $999, this is $300 more). It is a Titan after all, not aimed at the average gamer. I'm just wondering what kind of performance increment we are going to see.

QUOTE(babykids @ Jul 25 2016, 02:43 PM)
TITAN X is worth it's price, cause it is the only card that can make 4k 60 fps. Big selling point from what i see. 8k 60fps like next next gen thing.
*
Wait for reviews, can only speculate for now.

...and just fresh out the door is the rumor that Volta is coming a lot sooner.

Volta - - rumored to be made out of Jen Hsun's Tesla car. laugh.gif
