Hi all, i havr a suunto d4i novo that has been used for 1 year and 8 months, around 90 dives. What is the chances of battery failing in the next 3 months if doing around 40 dives total? sad.gif

Will dive log be wiped off if battery being replaced?
*
Not sure what the chances are but you can always bring a spare battery and screwdriver if you're concerned.

Hi guys, I'm planning to go for a diving trip around July/August this year. I'm looking for a dive buddy to join me. Diving location we can discuss, preferable in Malaysia. Anyone interested?

Have anyone tried driving over in manukan island (Sabah) or anywhere around it?

And by the way, is it possible to do a refreshment course in Kl/pj?

September/October is still fine. Closing season but most are open up to end September for sure.

Go to the southern islands on east coast usually open until October or later.

It's best practice to dive with one. But if you don't own one you could probably rent it from the dive centre that you're diving with.

When i started out I used a zoop (it is now superseded by zoop novo). All manufacturers have entry level dive comps and i think they're all capable enough, so maybe you can choose one based on looks/ergonomics/price.

i rarely use my compass. even it bundle together with my spg i barely note its reading
unless you are venturing without a local guide or doing penetrating wreck dive or cavern dive - i dont see why a digital compass is all that usefull

Lol most hobbies/sports are born out of desire, not necessity. Nothing is ever needed. Any dive equipment that you can rent or borrow, is optional to own really.

I do a lot of shore dives and a compass is essential. I used to have a separate compass on my wrist, but after getting a dive computer with a builtin compass i use that instead. It costs only RM 300 for the top of the line wrist compass, so it's no big deal if your computer doesn't have one.

I don't think a compass will work in a wreck. Too much metal everywhere. I'll test this next time laugh.gif
