It's best practice to dive with one. But if you don't own one you could probably rent it from the dive centre that you're diving with.

When i started out I used a zoop (it is now superseded by zoop novo). All manufacturers have entry level dive comps and i think they're all capable enough, so maybe you can choose one based on looks/ergonomics/price.

Yup. Get a dive Comp. Any entry level ones is good enough for leisure dives.

A must item that diver should have 1st after get certified

Im using  Mares Puck Pro RM700. Big, but cheap and easy to use  still love it and using till now.
if u got alot of money get a Suntoo  but if u wanna save your money just get the new Mares Smart also a good Dive comp. price still reasonable around RM 1K and more nicer then my Mares Puck Pro. Small and you can wear daily 

tenggol haves many of deep dive site..i still no chance dive there.. but some of our member here go dive at tenggol and tell me there is no fish  no ppl knows what happen..some of my dive frens also tell me about this.. maybe the fish all balik kampung kot  but if u lucky u will meet whaleshark at tenggol 

Corals Tioman is better but Perhentian fishes more varieties. At least based on my each experience there before. The better one is still Tenggol.

Nooo. My dive comp still follows me everywhere hahaha.
When I was looking for my first dive comp, one of the requirements I wanted was a digital compass so I don't have to bring another compass. And guess what, I've not used the digital compass in my dive comp for the past 8 years. No, I do not know how to use it. It is slow as fuck too. And I was looking to buy another compass when I was required to anyways.

So, my advice, don't bother with the digital compass. Just get a basic one, with nitrox settings.

i rarely use my compass. even it bundle together with my spg i barely note its reading
unless you are venturing without a local guide or doing penetrating wreck dive or cavern dive - i dont see why a digital compass is all that usefull

Lol most hobbies/sports are born out of desire, not necessity. Nothing is ever needed. Any dive equipment that you can rent or borrow, is optional to own really.

I do a lot of shore dives and a compass is essential. I used to have a separate compass on my wrist, but after getting a dive computer with a builtin compass i use that instead. It costs only RM 300 for the top of the line wrist compass, so it's no big deal if your computer doesn't have one.

That's ok. Keep a logbook and white down the details from the dive comp into it at the end of your diving day.

Check the first page for list of dive shops and what they specialize in. There are a few dive shops who focus on photography. For Suunto, it's pretty much standard price everywhere you go.

Yes the dive comp is same. For the suntoo Zoop yes that's the latest colour from Zoop family.. You better go there and see and test at your hand..hehe..go to the shop then see which 1 make you jatuh hati to buy..hehe..

No the Apnea is for Free diving.
Full face mask is not common here. I think most people dont use it too.

I have not used a full face mask before (but won't pass on a chance to try ). They are very uncommon in recreational diving and there are additional protocols for using them. Get qualified advice before you commit to one.
