valkyrie, wooow... very interesting solo ! good usage of tension building and release, arpeggios brings an exotic touch to our bunches of bluesy solos and overall your solo sends your "message" very clearly. One could say it is a bit "cold" or surgerical, but i don't biggrin.gif

you overdubbed your arpeggios at the end ? I can hear like a stereo effect, but i'm not so sure.. is it two guitars or an effect ? please share your secret wink.gif

Thank you all again smile.gif

Hahaha Pix you got me there! tongue.gif Actually the entire solo is double tracked and I think it's probably coz of the bad timing which makes the 'stereo' effect seem more apparent.

The 'exotic' thing..truth is..i can't play blues to save my life so I'm forced to play something like so! And btw, Pix mind e-mailing me your take on the solo as well at valkyrie1232@yahoo.com or upload here in the forum again, I couldn't download the track coz the link already expired sad.gif

Vbs, I use a Jackson TH-1 Stealth guitar equipped with Steve's Special and Puff Pro puppies smile.gif and hooked it up to my trusty Microcube. For this particular solo I used the Classic Stack Model (actually my knob is always on R-fier...sigh the delinquent I am tongue.gif ).

Actually the off timing works in your favor! It sounds totally freakin' awesome and works well with the song!

Hehe, not everyday off timing will work in your favour mate! wink.gif

But seriously, interesting use of the whole-tone scale and assorted diminished licks. And the arpeggios... thumbup.gif

here is my solo : http://download.yousendit.com/62588CD26FD8703B

it is true your guitar sound is excellent, i'm suprised to hear you managed to get that from a microcube. I guess the guitar + the pups helped to achieve thos good tone smile.gif

overdubbing a solo track with the exact same solo is something i will never be able to do.. there is always a few notes that won't be on the same tempo. you did a great job on this overdubbing !

Just heard your solo, your tone in the beginning somehow reminded me of Eric Clapton! Very stratty and you have some cool low-gain fast licks going on there...kinda reminded me of Zack Kim of Cosmic Funk Express...as in the sudden flurry of notes added with some staccato (can see you have a good ear for anticipation), if you are familiar with Zack Kim's playing you'll know what I mean and yes it's a compliment!

No wonder you were asking the rest of the forumites why they still dare to join after hearing your solo ! tongue.gif Just kidding !

valkyrie, i'd love to hear some cosmic funk express tracks ! i've heard a lot about them, but now i'm not in m'sia anymore sad.gif can't hear them.
thanks for your comments on my part, it's funny to listen how one's solo is perceived by someone else.

One thing though : i'm playing through a js1000 ! so the neck pick-ups does sound like a strat, with the correct amp settings.

Another SA fan here, I see. I remember someone from the band said: "I like to create music that I like to listen to". I wished that I was in such a kick *** band...
