Hi Pix, that's great to hear. You guys have quite a community here.

Just heard your solo, Mr Blacktrix. Gotta agree with echobrain on the 'vocal approach' he mentioned!

The beginning was very promising and rather tasteful I might add! But maybe ideas were running out towards the end, which was probably why you are working on changing the ending, eh?

And yes supercolossal, the tone on my solo has to be thinnest among the bunch! (i've always been a thin tone guy). And I was actually using the Fattest Amp Model on my microcube! *doh!*

Which amp setting is that smile.gif? But sometimes what you hear recorded and what's coming out of the speakers can be a little different, maybe you can try to boost the mids a little.

Can somebody post the backign track for this? Also can somebody just give a rough idea what are the actual chord movements? smile.gif

I'm only able to catch Am, Abxx, xx, xx for the beginning and ends with Fmaj7 and E7#9. Am I right?
Nice backing track btw.

Supercolossal, er..there's no real amp setting coz there's no EQ in the microcube. I just maxed out the Tone and Gain (delinquent I am) and used Classic Stack (which supposedly models the JMP-1).

C'mon man, more ppl fill up the slots and let's hear more solos from everyone!

Mr Blacktrix, you mentioned u wanted the WAV files for the recording. Do you want the guitar solo with the backing or just the guitar solo alone with no backing music for your mixing?

And if anyone can contact SeongKeat, please do so.

And again, To all those recorded, send me your solo files WITHOUT the backing track, so I can join them later.....also the EXACT time where you come in.

blacktrix, hey nice solo and great tone ! as it was said before, starting melody is great but at some point there is an hurge to speed up and spice things up a bit. Your solo is even asking for it, but it looks like your fighting it..

Yeah...... towards the end.... I thought I needed a burst of speed.....
I think I'll go over, slow things down and do it more melodically.

I can't help it! I've been listening to alot of Slash and Zakk stuff lately!

blacktrix : no, sorry, you got me wrong : the solo should be sped up at some point, but it is not because you're fighting it and keeping the same binary rythm. You're steadily playing on the time, without acceleration, whereas the solo is "urging" for machine gun alternate picking.

when you end a "main" melody, to finalize it, you can move out of your "crotchet" rythm for a while and attempt something with quavers, semiquavers, etc... break the monotony of your rythm once in a while. your melody is interesting, so why not keep your rythm interesting as well ? i might be wrong but i think john petrucci's playing clearly illustrates that concept.

On the other hand, you can break up the rythm by going "ternary", or even leave a blank and let the note ring...

Added on March 19, 2007, 2:16 amdidn't i tell you something like that in a previous solo of yours by the way ?
