Suddenly the coating discussion stopped. Can we arrange to get a further 15% discount on this smile.gif
Well I asked the question if those who want can PM me their details and when they are able to go leave their cars at Regal Valet.

Nobody responded. So my hands are tied I guess.

But there was an owner here who mentioned my post to their SA at Honda Jln Damansara, TTDI. biggrin.gif

42% TSER for the front... Should be less than 70% IRR 😂 And windscreen is the most important.
I checked if you get Llumar Diamond 6, they use Llumar Gold for the windscreen.

VLT - 63%
TSER - 43%
IRR - 93%
Warranty - 7 yrs
Green

Bro, I am interested. Let me know yeah should you manage to get special price. I heard, the promotion was over and it costs around RM 3,800 to coat the car now.

Thanks bro smile.gif
They have a Raya promo ongoing now which is 20% off. The owner said if there is more than 4 owners from LYN who does the coating together, he can give a further 10-15% discount.

I will be sending my wife's car there tonite for the coating and Llumar Diamond 6 tinting. So anybody who wants and is confirmed PM me your name, contact no and car registration number.

cybermaster98, can u send me the detail of the coating and price after discount
Dunno how many times I need to repeat. But here goes:

This is GYEON MOHS+ coating from the UK. Sole distributer/applicator in Malaysia is Regal Valet at Jalan Damansara, TTDI, KL behind the Lotus Damansara showroom.

Normal price is RM3,500. There is an ongoing Raya promo where you will get a 20% discount. But if there are about 4-5 owners who want to do a group buy of MOHS+, the owner said he can reduce a further 10-15% depending on the size of the group.

Those who are confirmed, please PM me your name, hp number and car registration. Once there are about 4-5, I will pass on your info to the owner of RV and then it will be up to you and him to deal and confirm the final price and date of the coating.

Please be reminded that im not doing this because Ive got any share with RV or I get a commission from them yea. This is solely because ive had a good experience with them and im just sharing it with you all.

if not mistake, coating orig price is 3500 -35% discount

detail that cybermaster98 shared before this:
1) The coating is really good. After 7 months, the water beading effect off the windscreen and car body is still good.
2) Their car wash (using good shampoo) is cheap. Only RM60 per month for unlimited washes & vacuum.
3) Their car wash is really good. Their cleaning is top notch. No dirt smudges, etc. Even the car engine bay is cleaned.
4) Customer service from the owners is good. They are contactable on hp, whatsap and FB. Very professional and they respond fast to complaints
5) RV is not calculative. For the sake of customer satisfaction, they go the extra mile.
6) While your car is being washed, u can relax in the comfort of the aircon launge with comfortable sofa's, good reading materials, TV and drinks.
7) Open daily from 8.30am to 7pm.
Thanks bro!

Just sharing some of the info on coatings.  The GYEON MOHS+ is a Japanese designed product (not UK).  It's a good product, but is classified as a short term coating product (~24 months), thereafter you can opt to re-coat again.  Price for the entire MOHS+ kit is ~GBP120 but as with coatings, the cost is really in the labour and not so much on the product.

With coatings as well, the detailer skills is key in ensuring a lasting and quality finish (surface prep is key).  I think RV has a good reputation out there.  For the price, you can also consider CeramicPro 9H which is classified as a long term coat (~5 years).

Many different options and products out there for coatings.  Watch out for marketing gimmicks and go with reputable brands and applicators for the $$$'s.
Oh I was quite sure its from the UK?

Anyway, their warranty is 2 yrs but for the promo I got it with a 4 yr warranty. Those going for the group buy can also ask for the 4 yr warranty. RV is quite accommodating.

But whats also important is the after care. That's where RV is a step above others. E.g their Auto Bath Club is only RM60 / mth for unlimited washes. So if ure staying nearby its good value.

Its open to all. U can sign up even if u don't do the coating there.

You sign up online with your credit card. Its billing directly to your cc every 30 days.

RM60 / mth with unlimited washes seems like little too cheap for their workmanship. Really putting this into consideration.
No its not. How many ppl are going to wash twice a week like me? Majority will wash once a week that's 4 times a month which works out to be RM15 per wash. And they market it a bit lower but entice more to sign up. Plus they enrol you on a monthly basis so its guaranteed income for RV.

Anyway, let RV deal with the business side of it. That's their problem not ours. We wash our cars and if we are happy with the end result for RM60 then its fine.

Hi All,

I've received about 12 PM's over the past 2 hours. Some ok. Some weird.

Allow me to make some things clear with regards to Regal Valet and my position:

1) I do not work for Regal Valet
2) I do not earn any commission from Regal Valet
3) I do not own a car spa / coating/ tinting business
4) I am just a customer of RV since Dec 2015 when I got my car done there and tmr im sending my wife's Civic there too
5) I recommend RV and the GYEON coating because of the reasons ive mentioned in my earlier posts
6) I cannot make special arrangements for you or deal on a case by case basis. You will need to deal directly with RV for this.
7) The normal price of the Gyeon MOHS+ coating is RM3,500 less the 20% ongoing Raya promo less 10-15% for Civic owners group buy
8) All I need from you is your name, hp, car registration which I will pass to RV to deal with you.
9) If you have general enquiries about RV or their services kindly post in the thread so that I don't have to keep repeating
10) You are under no obligation to do the coating at RV. Ive already provided you the reasons why I think their's is good (using my own brand new BMW car as a guinea pig). If you think you have a better deal out there by all means go ahead. No issue at all.

So far nobody has provided me with any concrete details or confirmation on the group buy. So kindly stop asking me how many ppl have signed up. Im just a customer like you who is merely taking my own initiative to get you a better deal from RV. That's all.

Cheers! biggrin.gif

hi cyber, i heard you bringing your wife car for llmuar tinting there as well, what are the price you got there? so they have a tinting with coating package?

Thanks
Again ive stated earlier.

MOHS+ coating - RM2,180
Llumar Diamond 6 - RM2,800

The coating price above you wont be able to get since its a special promo price for 2 weekends ago (which I informed all but nobody was interested). The tint you probably can get at my price too.

I just noticed in the owners list. Nobody got the 1.8? Or it just hasn't been delivered yet?
Just collected my wife's Civic 1.8S Lunar Silver this evening.

I drove about 50km in total since. My brief observations:

1) The 1.8 CVT is NOT sluggish at all. A complete difference to the City and its slight more powerful than the HRV. I think its been tuned to suit the Civic.
2) NVH is good and gives you the conti feel. But Honda should have done a better job with the NVH between the engine compartment and the cabin.
3) The CVT gets loud when you floor the pedal during hard acceleration but very quiet when cruising
3) Tyre noise is there probably due to Conti MC5 tyres (which are just medium range)
4) Fabric seats are sufficiently comfortable but I would take leather anytime
5) Seats are well designed and suits body contours well.
6) Steering feels firm when cruising and light when manoeuvring. Honda did an excellent job here.
7) Brakes are good and gives you that extra confidence
8) Aircon is damn cold. I usually have the temp set at around 19 deg in my own car but in the Civic I had it at 24 deg.
9) Suspension is a bit on the firm side but makes cornering good

Really satisfied with the 1.8S. I was preparing myself for a sluggish ride especially since I drive a F10 myself. But kudos to Honda for doing a good job in minimising the negative effects of the CVT.

One thing that Honda needs to sort somehow is the radio reception. Almost all channels have some sort of disturbance with the worst being Hitz FM. mad.gif

guys.. you guys have gotten your cars for a while now...

i have a burning question.

when you guys go over humps or bumpy surface..

do you "Feel" like the suspension is setup just nice for the weight of the car?

i have this very insecure feeling that the suspension is crashing whenever i go over badly paved roads or roads with small lubangs.

when the car goes over it you hear a sharper "ting" or "tang" as opposed to a normal "thump" or "dup" like you get in alot of cars.

its not like the suspension is bad.. just the sound of it..

im half awake so i can't really describe the sound but... i hope you guys get it.

just wondering if its engineered that way or just a run-in thing?
First I have to ask you what was your previous car?

had a fofi (suspension best) , waja, 8th gen accord, Myvi.. all don't "sound" like that.

driven 8th gen civic, a couple BMWs, a couple merz, a couple VWs, camrys, citys, mazdas 2,3,6 also dun have that shaper "tang"

u know that sound some cars make like the "swoosh" sound you get on the absorber? this one sounds different.
Well, I surely didn't experience any of your 'sounds' in the Civic.

The Civic suspension is a bit on the firm side unlike the Altis or Camry. Basically it's set up like a Conti. But that is good if not u will get the 'floaty' feeling when driving at high speed on highways. Also a firm suspension holds weight better especially with a full load of passengers.

The Conti MC5 tyres used are more comfort based. Dry grip is alright but wet grip not too good. And it's not run flat tyres like im used to on my BMW (which takes comfort out the window).

So in short no reason why you should be experiencing those 'sounds'. Anyway not an issue. At your 1,000 service highlight this to Honda and get them to do a complete check on your suspension system and your engine mountings. Do a road test with them so that they can either confirm your concerns or negate them. Make sure this issue is recorded on the system so that in case of future claims, you have a complaint trail for reference.

Nice meh? for me not nice. makes the car looks dull. Actually the crome part makes the car looks classy. Just my opinion smile.gif
I agree. The chrome bits are very important in adding some character to the car and making it stand out. Without it and with a dark color e.g modern steel or black, the car actually looks dull.

For the Civic design, chrome bits + light/bright color helps make the car stand out well. Dark colors don't go very well with this design. Again my opinion.

Honda should have brought in a similar color like the Carbon Black (blue hue) that BMW has. Even though a dark color, but it stands out quite well under bright sunlight.

I owned civic 8gen b4. Yes the suspension dound on that model was real & serious issue when 1st launched in 2006. I had all the bushes replaced under warranty but the sound was bck a month later but reduced till I sold the car ~2011.

I test drove this new civic turbo last weekend & happy wth the improved suspension & the power/ torque. Too bad the engibe sound is much louder now & the road noise is actually bad.

I hv used MC5 b4 on my recetly sold sonata yf before I decided to scale downed to silverstone atlantis v7 tyres. Once switched from mc5 to v7, i can feel the immediate softer ride on v7 & quieter road noises.

MC5 us indeed overated tyres and I will not recommend at all

*
Yes im not happy with the tyre noise as well. Dry grip is good but if its tis noisy when its brand new I can imagine how noisy it will get as it wears.

I'm considering trading in for either Michelin Primacy 3 ST or Pilot Sport 3.
