"Just be wary if you plan to go into electrical engineering as a consultant."
What do you mean by that?

Means like a Project Manager?
Because I thought like working with a group of engineers in a cooperate tho.

Make sure your degree allows you to be registered as a professional engineer in electrical engineering.

??? you want to work in a corporate environment? engineering is not the way to go if that's the case...

What environments am I working in though? If this is the case for most engineers?
Like working in tech industry, like in designing chips under INTEL or AMD or even ARM.
Building the next generation of smart cars and appliances, internet of things devices.

Even doing making prosthetic, transforming the disabled to some what a human like cyborg.

engineering is hopeless.

business
or design
or apps/programming

have better future.

self learning in 2017 make more sense

Is not like I can transition with ease without meeting from people from self learning, and getting recognition from a body is better than doing it and earning the ranking on your own, as I heard a podcast in America, some high school drop out after a few year gotten underpaid, as he doesn't have a diploma or went through high school.

I need to attended any coding programs or coding school for a time to get some prerequisites before I think I can move on. What's more, I don't want to be in those start up who just gets funding and tutup kedai in the industry.

before you think about all that, answer this question: can you/will you work in a production environment?

I'd never been on these type of fields before.
Certainly I know it is not a 9 to 5 job in the office.
Production environment as in what kind?
As I don't have technically any proper knowledge within these type of industry, or have chance to speak to these people.

here's how you can simulate the environment: wear a plastic bag, and stay up from 9pm to 9am

That is the most moronic thing I've read. Without engineers, who is gonna create the infrastructure in which your business rely on? Without engineers, who is gonna create the hardware such as computers and phones for your programs and apps to run on? Even design requires engineering as most design nowadays are digital, which rely on hardware developed by engineers. Engineering is a vast field that incorporate various aspects of our lives, to think that engineering is hopeless is just pure ignorance.

childish.

not all engineer = the "engineer" you mentioned in article.

Only less than 0.0001% of engineer involved in designing these very advanced Micro/Nano computing chips.

Most engineer in their line are keep replacing by younger and cheaper one. (in production line etc...)

Just too many ppl study engineering. this is wat i want to tell.

Experienced engineers tend to move up in positions as they gain useful insights while others might move on to other fields in which they can benefit from with their experience. You cannot expect a fresh graduate to sell products or lead a design team. Engineers tend to work in teams, thus a larger amount of engineers is required, hence a great demand. And as I said engineering is a vast field, not only in computing so there will be demand else where depending on your field. Some engineering field might have too many graduates like you said while some are in short supply.

Hey peeps, just wondering where is the best place to study E&E Engineering?
Will be going there after finishing A-Levels, but not sure I want to go overseas, since costs of living is already a burden to my parents.

Is it possible to study degree to get a bachelor degree, then go other university to get master in Engineering?

I think I will get an average of Bs for Math, Chem and Physics for my overall results, if everything goes according to plan.

Technically, I'm not really good at math anymore, it seems like I'd reach my peak in learning math in high school level. I'm not really sure how this will play out in Engineering Course.

Also what is the average cost of 4 years of degree in private uni in Malaysia? around RM 60K?

Also is it possible to make a switch in Engineering Course? Like from first year of Engineering in EnE to Chemical/Mechanical Engineering?

Nottingham is a good uni. If you do well in both academic and curricular + the credibility of the uni, easy to land a job in MNC...
