Just noticed that Yes put LTE B28 into lowest priority (below B20/38/40/41) if the phone is locked to LTE only instead of 5G/LTE... which means the phone won't connect to LTE B28 unless if in areas where Yes own signal is weak but DNB's B28 signal is strong.

This could be why those LTE only modem users with Yes SIMs reports weird behaviour lately after locking to LTE B28

This is true, 5G tower 500 metres away but always connect to school tower 900 metres away B20, unless i toggle 5G auto.

If 5G is basically everywhere you go then you can consider, but for me some places i go does not have 5G and weak 4G connection, especially in shopping malls, means you might have some problems with phone online/QR payments.

Weakest coverage for 4G yes, but 5G it does not really has disadvantage since all telcos use the same infra for 5G.

I have no issues with coverage so far for the places I usually visited in jaybee. 5G coverage in jaybee is considered excellent comparing to kl and Selangor.

Only newer areas like Medini, it may not have 5G or even 4G coverage for indoor.

I still can’t auto connect to 5G in yes territory, Lot 10. Need to click reset 5G button. And Lot 10 not 5G fully covered.

Nowadays already few times 4G line still have (connected to school tower Band 20) but no data transmission, toggle airplane mode also useless, need wait few mins then data back online.

Also realised if Yes 4G line in my area got sudden problem become no signal and 5G coverage is available, switching to 5G auto also wont connect to 5G, still no signal. Other telco (also using unifi bebas prepaid) connect to 5G at the same time no problem, got line. I wonder if connecting to 5G still need handshake with Yes within an area/district.

Strange at my place I don’t see band 20 anymore. Usually it will just connect to a very weak band 40 or 38.

Maybe you're at or near city centre? Probably cost-cutting measure since 5G is already widely available in city centres.

Any one brought devices from Yes 5G (Tied with Contract) ? Wanna know whether they do Telco Lock (only can use Yes5G Sim card) or we can use the device with other telco's SIM card. As long as paying the bill on time.
Coz i am planning for sign up Rahmah 5G package...but I am intent to use the plan on another phone...

I do once experience telco lock from Hotlink Postpaid's phone. You can only use Maxis/Hotlink on sim 1, sim 2 you can use any sim since both sim slot's IMEI is different. Not sure about Yes's contract phone tho.
