My personal view, dbs and posb is the worst bank to have acct with, simply with the long q at atm machine

U may get the posb / dbs acct when u first step into sg, but subsequently i will recommend to change to uob or ocbc, better interest rate acct and less q and less ppl at their branch or atm.

Then just look for listings where you can talk to the landlord directly. Why use an agent and pay their fee?

ok, i did not know about POSB because i did not try.

Only with DBS, i tried they dont allow me to open the basic type.

They insist on EP can only open the Multiple Currency type Savings acc...

For this i have checked with two DBS branches...They tell the same...

Only PR's and Citizen need to contribute to CPF or after working for 2 years.
But if your employer is willing to pay CPF for you, take the chance.
You might have less to use monthly but you get quite a lot of savings tax-free.

so, which area so i land??
after that how to get there, by bus, or MRT?

2) is that a possible 1 day trip (pigi balik), do i need to book online or i just need to ge to the station to direct buy??

3) bside, after interview, & i have to get back to malaysia, so when i buy the ticket, can use MYR ka?? or do i need to exchange SG dollar here bfore go there for interview??

4) let said the company wanna hire me, so, how do i find a room there?? any easy way?? (prefer sharing room, kuali life, work sleep work sleep...).

5) refer no 3, any cheaper room near that area. & what is the price?

JUST IN: Qualifying salary for Employment Pass applications to be raised from $3,300 to $3,600 from Jan 1, 2017

The change is part of the Manpower Ministry's (MOM) regular updating of the EP qualifying salary to keep pace with rising local wages, maintain the quality of Singapore's foreign workforce and enhance their complementarity to the local workforce, MOM said in a press release on Tuesday (July 26).

The previous minimum EP qualifying salary update was in January 2014, from $3,000 to $3,300. http://str.sg/4SNZ

MOM said it will provide lead time for businesses to make adjustments. Existing EP holders whose passes expire:

Before Jan 1, 2017: Will be able to renew, for a duration of up to three years, based on existing EP criteria.

Between Jan 1, 2017 and June 30, 2017 (both dates inclusive): Will be able to renew, for a duration of one year, based on the existing EP criteria.

July 1, 2017 onwards: Will have to meet the new criteria for renewal, for a duration of up to three years.

Says who? Never heard of anyone getting ep below the required  minimum salary.

Also, I hope they don't raise the minimum required income to bring in family.. 5k is already ridiculously high. Wat the gomen of singapore think? Worker here meant as slave.. ? No time even for family..

Hi guys. I am a mechanical engineering fresh graduate from local u, I received a job offer as QA engineer in sg with basic salary of $2100 and transport allowance $100.
May I know what is the expected salary for fresh grad engineer? Btw I am a girl, is it harder for me to land on an engineer job?
