QUOTE(telomasen88 @ Dec 28 2016, 04:33 PM) Would consider Australia as well.. but currently from what i heard, it's easier to go in Australia if you have worked in singapore before... hence the plan... There's Australia thread for you to ask for help. Every time you migrate to new country you have to start anew. |

QUOTE(Informationiac @ Dec 30 2016, 06:10 PM) i didnt know this. I only know when sourcing for some stuff, they also try to press down prices on Msian supplier when they have already gain so much. Don't have to generalize S'pore like that. Purchaser whether it's from Singapore or anywhere else also like to press the price. Wah so they double press 2 side for their own gain. Real China man. Pressing one salary also has no correlation with being S'pore boss or not. MNC also press salary |

QUOTE(State9 @ Jan 6 2017, 10:03 PM) I'm a fresh graduate of science. And let say i want to apply for jobs in SG, then what are the most efficient job seeking websites? I tried jobsdb but no reply so far. Do i need to hand in resume to recruitment agencies? Hoping for enlightenment. It's not because of website. You should know supply of jobs here are much less now, whereas demand (job seekers are plenty). Given the fact you are a foreigner and fresh some more, makes you lower priority in hiring |

I supposed to be entitled for AWS, now HR told me that she made mistake and send me the wrong contract that it suppose to be I may or may not get AWS. She asked me if she can revise the contract. What should I do? Follow Mackiddo advise. That's the correct way in adjusting your current package. |

Businesses in S'pore can be tough as its free market. You get MANY competitors
If you never operate a business, don't assume running a company is easy life. |

Shouldn't benchmark with old pay in Malaysia.
Salary should be paid at MARKET RATE. Slowly survey the salary guide release by recruitment agencies. |

QUOTE(activexxx @ Feb 1 2017, 05:43 PM) I will be having an interview offered by a IT consultant firm in Singapore. Pay has to be market rate. Don't use old MY salary for benchmarkLet's say my current salary in M'sia is RM9k (with 8 years of working experience), should I put my expected salary as SGD9k? Or must put lesser than that? Please advise as I have not worked there before. You should do research on your industry, job scope etc. |

QUOTE(activexxx @ Feb 3 2017, 01:12 PM) Problem with recruitment companies salary guide, their salary benchmark is always inflated. Their sample size is small and only obtained from their client's budgeting data and successful placementUse this Benchmarking Tool from S'pore's MOM Statistics - cover nearly the population http://stats.mom.gov.sg/bt/Pages/Home.aspx Must click to Agree with TnC and select "Occupational Wage Search" to benchmark |

QUOTE(xswatch @ Feb 7 2017, 02:49 PM) lol, u crazy to drive every day? vep $35 daily + tolls + erp. on jb side, tolls too. how much they offer u? u will be spending $40+ daily for vep & tolls alone. haven't include parking fees (if any) & oil yet. let's say u work 20 days monthly, $40 x 20 = $800 (rm2400+). either u carpool / public transport / bike is the answer (if u insist staying at jb) Haha. You are very ignorant when you say that. There are many people who commute daily by driving Msian car. I ever met someone who has been doing that for more than 10 years |

QUOTE(vincentleong @ Feb 21 2017, 10:11 PM) Anyone here uses a Singaporean debit card at Malaysian petrol stations the past few days and had success with paying for petrol at the terminal without keying in PIN? My DBS debit card is not PIN-enabled apparently, tried using my ATM PIN and it failed. I had to resort to using the credit card instead. Called up the bank's customer service and they insisted that I don't have to use a PIN and when asked when they are going to embrace PIN and pay they had no idea. Why don't use your Msian debit/credit cardWhen using S'pore CC in M'sia the spread for exchange rate varies a lot. On top of that you'll incur 1% cross border charge. |
