Hi, so you mean that we could not purchase any duty free goods from changi to malaysia? I am planning to get a carton of cigarette when I am going back Malaysia from Changi.  blink.gif

He means entering SG from MY, you cannot buy duty free
Going back into MY is no problem

Hi all,

I recently just got transfer to Singapore as permanent employee and just signed the offer letter. My company provide me 2 weeks hotel as relocation assistance, but I'm thinking to find a room now if can, Can I rent a room using my offer letter or must I wait for my EP to be approve?

Thanks in advance!
*
You will need your EP to be approved first, then you will get a letter (IPA) which can be used to rent a room
But of course you can start looking for a place, and only move in once you get that

It's true for DBS. I'd assume it's true for POSB as well.
Nope, it's applicable.
It's <3k.
Yep, I get charged the fee before. That's why now tend to keep the money in Singapore instead of Malaysia. Which is also why I prefer to pay with my SG debit card and get stuck with the recent introduction of Pin and Pay in MY.
*
I just checked my POSB to confirm, there's no such charge with my balance around 1.5k
Maybe for DBS only

as i can see from POSB website, non Singaporean or PR can only apply the multiplier account which has to maintain minimum average balance of $3k to avoid monthly fee
*
Mind giving me a quick summary of what the multiplier account gives us?
I took a quick glance, looks something like UOB's One Account where you get cashback or extra interest the more criteria you meet

I think yours is SPEP acc. min fall below <1K

Yup the default account they opened for me as my first payroll account

Why bother opening one with a higher requirement, unless you want the benefits (if any)
Especially for your first SG account

Sure that's a good reason
But i doubt the original poster of the question is in that situation, being his first week in SG

On a side note, the 3k probably isn't going to be an issue if its the joint account

Depends on what type of saving accounts.
Since you have maxed out or almost maxed out the 60K in OCBC 360, where else do you park your funds if you do not do any sort of investment?

Okay nvm, i think the original statement has been lost in the pages
