The new one RGX4400...  tongue.gif  tongue.gif  sweat.gif
i thougth dlink 850L would be better? is it or not?
and it is also  user friendlier for non tech guy like me..
*
Probably comparable in terms of performance but haven't had a chance to test the DIR-850L. The RGX4400 I use almost everyday at a local coffee shop. It works very well given the number of users that you'd expect at a busy coffee shop. Quite impressive for a free router. I posted a few tests I did with utorrent and speedtests in this thread. Search for RGX4400. Wifi is quite good. The shoplot here is 22x75, I think. Corner lot so 44x75 and the RGX4400 covers all of it and more. But of course, coffee shop layout is very open, house will be different.

The GUI of the DIR-850L is so much nicer to look at. A graphic designer worked on it obviously. It has a few features such as Shareport and myDlink which might be useful to you.

The RGX4400's GUI, on the other hand, is a just series of tables and text. It's quite comprehensive. Lots of things to configure. It has a USB3 port in addition to the USB2 port.

My 4332 is shit with the outdated wireless standard, how can i acquire a brand new rgx4400? Was planning on Asus but for now i go for a cheaper stable one.
*
Yeah, the 4332 not that good. Tends to slow down over time. Lack of ram or memory leak, I dunno. Did you upgrade to UniFi advance and had your warranty renewed? Maybe can try to complain about something.

For example, one of my friends zapped one of Ethernet ports with 240v 12V and had it replaced. Lots of creative ways.

For Unifi 30, what is the optimal MTU value? Is that system specific, location specific?
...
Don't tell me DL has changed all that and has not updated the manual like their password = "blank" error!

*
It's PPP specific. Why, is explained in the doc below which I've read but not understand. blink.gif But basically it's 1500-6-2=1492.

All blue and pretty now. No more orange menus.

Parents place just got the free upgrade from VIP5 to VIP10.

Meanwhile I still deciding whether to upgrade to Adv30 for 169 b4 GST.
*
199 is the current price,
I'm paying 179 which is nice,
169 is just less a little bit,
But it's the lowest so far so just go for it.

What I heard is the other way round, Maxis Fibre sucks and worse than UniFi. That's the reason I signed up for UniFi that time though the price I paid for VIP5 equalled to 10Mbps for Maxis. A search on this section will show that Maxis is worse. Not sure now.
*
Me too. When UniFi 30 came around, I had the option of getting it for RM179 or staying on 10mbps and saving a few bucks with Maxis Fibre at RM128. 148-20 since I was a Maxis mobile subscriber.

In the end, after reading a few horror stories here, decided to stay with Unifi.

QUOTE(myromance123 @ Jul 3 2016, 12:09 AM)
Thanks a bunch mate! That did the trick.

username: operator
password: Opr@XXXX

It's case sensitive and the X's are the 4 last characters of the MAC address, which you can get from the LAN configuration ( login in to the router like normal with the standard username 'admin' and no password). Now it doesn't feel so cheap anymore  biggrin.gif
*
No probs. I actually gave you the wrong post for the password. Should have been this one.
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=80558352

Let us know how the router performs for you. I personally think it's pretty awesome for RM0.

Can ONE house have TWO Unifi at the same time.
*
Yes, you can. Not sure how Unifi would do it but my auntie's restaurant has 2 Ohana subscriptions and they come in through one BTU on separate VLANs. So they have 2 separate accounts/bills, 1 BTU, 2 VLANs and 2 routers.

Can i exchange the BTU that TM gave?
Every time i plug in a LAN cable, my router will immediately loose network connection.
This router doesn't have this issue when i am still using Streamyx.
*
If you can show that there's a problem with the BTU, TM will change it for you for free.

Don't quite understand your problem. Where are you plugging the lan cable to?

New symptom:
The phone connected to the BTU (cordless phone).
If i called it, it mention that the number cannot be reached at the moment.

What does it mean?
*
If cannot call in to phone means BTU no connection to TM. Maybe BTU or cable outside problem. What do the status lights on the BTU look like?

Why not call 100 to come and check? I don't think TMPoint will change the BTU for you. Because the new BTU needs to be setup and registered to the OLT.

but yeah...i saw the BTU has 2 LAN ethernet port, 1 which is already in use by me. so i assume the second 1 is for another unifi account?
*
The BTU in my Auntie's restaurant has 4 Ethernet ports. Lan 1 is not used. Guess it's reserved for UniFi. Lan 2 & 3 are used for her 2 accounts from Ohana.

Is it biz package?

Ohana wad u mean?
*
It's in a commercial area, shopping mall actually, so probably biz package. Ohana.com.my is like Maxis or Celcom, TM infra based providers. Most people have never heard of it.

Anyway LAN Port 2 of TM'S BTU is definitely not reserved for Maxis. If anything, I'd say Lan Port 1 is reserved for UniFi and the others are up for grabs.

Anyone know whether TM sells rgx4400? I tweet them and they said to go tmpoint.
*
They should have it at TMPoint but, to be safe, go to the actual TM TMPoint and not the authorised dealer ones. Why not just try to get TM to replace your RG4332 with a new router for free? You upgraded to the Advance package right? So your warranty should be renewed also. Of course, you have to show that there's a problem if not they might charge you for it.

already called 100 to report at 11am. Looks like i will not have until tomorrow...

That sucks, hope the upcoming Raya hols doesn't delay the repair. I think a lot of people balik kampung already.

Can other forumers concur with this?

Seems weird that TM provides credit limit, yet suspends an account for missed payments
(even though it hasn't reach credit limit yet)..
*
From the horse's mouth. https://www.tm.com.my/Home/Broadband/unifi/...redit_Limit.pdf

It's like your credit card, you still have to pay your monthly dues even though you have a credit limit that more than covers it.

Hey guys,

recently I upgraded my net to 100mb from 2mb(maxis) and had gotten a good speed until I noticed that the wifi is not far enuff (can't reach 2nd floor of my house) and the connection sometimes disconnects at times.

so here is my question, is there a possibility that the unifi's router could be bottleneck the connection itself? and if it is, what other router that I can opt out for?

Thanks in advance
*
If it's a big house, it's probably a wifi signal problem. What router are you using now?

If i remember correctly i have changed it to some other brand router instead of the TM router. It improved drastically but somehow sometimes the wifi will drop or it doesnt load at all.

Is there any sales agent for tm here that wanna do my sales? Lol.
*
What router are you using now? And what was the previous TM router?

You can PM nyunyu, I got him to do the Unifi application for my uncle. Took only 2 work days (4 including weekend).

currently using whats provided by the unifi standard router. My other router for maxis is still working fine with wifi tho (my dad kept the maxis line too since hes afraid that if tm is down, maxis line can cover).

any recommendation for the other good router?
*
The Unifi standard router is actually very good already. Don't really see a need to buy another one.

Check out this thread for some tests I did with the "unifi standard router".
