I'm using Gsync 144hz IPS, I will recommend priorities as:

1. IPS
2. Gsync
3. 144hz
4. 1ms

That's just me, I'm okay with IPS glow, and I can't stand screen tearing.

Don't think there is any non-TN panel that offers 1 ms response time out there yet.

Yep so 1ms is last priority, 4 is pretty good enough. Low input lag is hiiiiiiigh priority. 1ms is useless if the input lag is 60ms.

And please note on the Display port cable specification vs resolution vs frequency. For today high end monitors the limitation stuck at display port 1.2/1.2a. I haven't seen any monitor that comes with display port 1.3 yet.

On the bright side, PASCAL gpu supports up to display port 1.4 smile.gif but we can't utilize it yet. doh.gif

Therefore, the best of all 2 combos of resolution vs frequency bounded with display port limitation, I think still is WQHD with 144hz. It utilized the highest bandwidth on DP1.2 spectrum, hence justifiy the high end price as for now. I yet to see ultrawide 2k 100hz monitor bandwidth. Not sure if that is higher than earlier mentioned.

As for 4k at 120hz/144hz, we will need to wait a few more years I suppose when monitor manufacturer starts to implement display port 1.3 and above. laugh.gif but has to be 32inch and above so the ppi will not be too high or too low else icons will be too small to view. smile.gif

Looking to upgrade my monitor as I'm getting GTX1060 for better gaming experience.

1) 1440p 60hz (Gsync?)
2) Full HD 144hz (Gsync?)

Yupe its RM1199 but this monitor has display port and has 144hz.... why need G-sync when there is no screen tearing at 144hz...

Gsync is more than just screen tearing. Many people have reported 70fps+Gsync feels smoother than 90fps w/o Gsync.

i think the numbers of 70fps and 90fps is too low to feel screen tearing. i think the difference will be obvious when you are hitting 100fps and above. Correct?

Very unlikely to see tearing, so difficult to make it screen tear.

Just recently I noticed you can see slight tearing when you run Hitman benchmark.
