Hello dear sifus, I'm looking for laptop recommendations that is not so heavy and bulky to carry around with good battery life. No gaming will be done. Friends been recommending me to get Apple's laptop due to durability even after years but are they as good as they claimed??

Usage: Normal usage for college student, programming , editing and normal usage, no gaming will be done

Preferred size: 13 - 15 inches

Budget: Max RM5K (can list out slightly above budget also)

Hey guys, i'm currently looking for a laptop with these specs.

Intel Core i7-6700HQ
8GB RAM
1TB + 128 SSD
GTX 960M 4GB
15.6"
(Preferably as light as possible)

My budget is around Rm4k ~ RM4.5k

I saw a few models that met my specifications,
Lenovo Y700, Dell Inspiron 7566

ASUS price and models are great too but their specification is always off by a little. Either GTX 960M 2GB or do not have SSD.

Any other recommendation that I might missed out? Thanks!

i have terrible experiences with my hdd for my old laptop, 100 disk usage all the time, many bad sectors. thats why want to change to ssd. for the m.2 slot, i once ask a dealer if there any extra slot, he said no. Then i go ask another seller, he said yes. thats why i ask about the m.2 slot. if it is available then thats a bonus for me

Lenovo 510-14IKB priced around rm2400. Asus K501 i searched from lazada is around rm3050.
spec wise, i see the only different is i5-7200U & i7-6500U.

does rm650 top up worth the differences?

Lenovo 510 is also using Nvidia GT940MX, since you say compare GPU, i thought you are referring to Asus K501 with GTX950M.
But from my search in lazada malaysia seems to have the Asus K501 with GT940MX which is same with Lenovo 510.

so actually the differences is just the CPU (i5-7200U in Lenovo 510 & i7-6500U in Asus K501).
does it really worth the rm650 price difference? (Lenovo 510-15IKB - RM2400, Asus K501 - RM3050)

or there are other alternative? If no then I guess only Lenovo 510-15IKB is the most value 15" FHD laptop now.
