Wifi connection is as normal Wifi.

Btw zio, what modem are you using? Are you using the WRT54G to connect the PPPoE?
*
Yep using WRT54G to connect the PPPoE.

QUOTE(shumaky @ Jan 14 2007, 03:12 AM)

No problem updating wirelessly. smile.gif

Just started to be a problem when the quake happends. Two weeks ago, it was somewhat alright, but slow. But now.... MTU also fail. sad.gif

FYI, my PC is also connected wirelessly. P2P sucks now. iTunes cannot download. Only fast download is http d/l. Streamyx sucks bigtime!

Staying in Klang, BTW. I notice ppl from Shah Alam also facing MTU failures with their Xboxes.

About that torrent thing,,,,, try send hate PM to terrencey aka zeliant..his co is responsible for it..now Im blaming his co..for my MTU screwed up too...

Hi there...

I'm using wrt54g ver 7....and my xbox 360 sould not recognized the IP address either wired or wireless.

Direct connection with streamyx model no problem. Laptop to router connection also no problem.

I don't really understand. Is it a compatibility issues? Should I tried wrt54g with lower revision?

What is your IP addy of your router? if its 192.168.25.xx, then your XBOX must have 192.168.25.yy. Don't use auto config, manually set your XBOX IP.

Very likely you have DHCP on, on your router, and that why you can connect to your laptop.

Yupz. sad.gif
I also notice I cannot surf to www.xbox.com
Maybe its related. To test MTU, they have to send packets to somewhere. That somewhere is the place that Streamyx cannot reach atm.

I have a ver 4 for about a year already, so far so good. This version will hang if you got too many connections made, esp when you use P2P software, but if you patch it with readily available 3rd party firmware, that problem is solved.

As for new Linksys Wireless-G Router (I think its ver 7), the problem I mentioned has been addressed. So go for it. It has served me well.

My router IP add is 192.168.1.1. I've manually tried to put the same IP add except .1 at the back changed to 102 following the IP ranged of the router. I beleive my laptop is using 101. The result, it still failed IP add checking.

You are right, I've set my router DHCP enable. Any other suggestion?

Try this :

- Disable all VPN settings
- Disable UpnP
- Make sure your DHCP IP range does not clash with your static IP

In your DHCP setting in your router, you should have a range of IP that will be auto assigned to any DHCP enabled devices. For your XBOX, manually assign your IP to one that is not in that range.

Eg.

My router IP is 192.168.1.1
DHCP starting IP is 192.168.1.200
Can connect up to 5 clients, so it starts from 200 till 204.

Your Xbox use 192.168.1.2

Understand what you mean here...

My Router IP is 192.168.1.1
DHCP starting IP is 192.168.1.100

I've tried using 102, 103 and even put it beyond 104 which is also not working though...

Guys I too need some serious help...i recently purchased a Linksys Wireless Router (WRT54GS V6) and have set up everything. I've turned off VP and Upnp. As such here is what happens I notice that I can connect to the internet fine, however my X360 keeps giving me an IP address failure.

So what I did was I went to the settings page for my router and disconnected it from the modem and then my x360 works fine. However then I turn my 360 off and try to reconnect my modem from the settings page of my router and it gives me an authentification failure of the PPPOe. Then i just turned off my modem and turned it back on and I can reconnect to the modem through the router.

As such I think I can't connect to both my 360 and the modem at the same time but it can be done seperately.

Please advice. Thanks is advance.

P.S. I forgot to add one more thing I have turned of my wireless security i.e. no WAP or WEP or anything of that sort.

Hrmm...sounds like your router's got some messed up bridging. Try another LAN port.

Sorry for my ignorance but when you mean try another LAN port do you mean disconnect the cable connecting my modem to my router and reconnecting to a different on opening on the router?

OH nononono.

I mean, connect your Xbox360 to another LAN port on the router. Your router has 4 LAN ports right? One of them might have been turned into a WAN bridge without you knowing, so i'm just testing for that.

Your modem should be connected to your WAN port...but you already know that since you've managed to get online already. happy.gif
