Anyone encountered problems with latest Hyperwrt firmware with Live?

My Linksys WRT54G ver 4 was working with Live before, but was 'hanging' every other day due to too many connnections from P2P.

So I 'upgraded' to Hyperwrt firmware which solved the 'hanging' problem. Unfortunately I encountered MTU failed error on Live test on the XBOX 360. So, cannot connect to Live anymore sad.gif .

Any 'guru' out there can help?

Nuuu! MTU failure is NOT a problem! Use manual MTU. Set to 1400 (I think that's the minimum). If that doesn't work, use 1460. That's the absolute maximum (NOT 1500!!)

If got any other problem, post here. I ken help. I also use WRT54G. wink.gif

Manual or auto same problem. I think its Streamyx related.......
I should have checked the XBOX connection before I change the WRT54G firmware to confirm it.....

Thats my setup. No deal. I think the problem started last week. I only got online on saturday and POW! MTU fail. Didn't have any problem before.

I remember there was a Live update but cannot download. This could be due to the Quake or Streamyx........

Um... what you mean ver 4-5? I have a ver 4 and it works fine with Live without much tweaking. You do need to add port 88 and 3074 into the port forwarding section for your xbox.

For XP and XBOX, which is local LAN environment, I had a tougher time. Lots of protection gotta remove in order to get them paired.

Sometimes if ur connected wirelessly, n not able to download the updates.. u need to do a LAN connection to the router n DL. And if that dont work.. Direct to the modem, this will surely work. I faced this once last time n it just happened yesterday when updating my GOW.

No problem updating wirelessly. smile.gif

Just started to be a problem when the quake happends. Two weeks ago, it was somewhat alright, but slow. But now.... MTU also fail. sad.gif

FYI, my PC is also connected wirelessly. P2P sucks now. iTunes cannot download. Only fast download is http d/l. Streamyx sucks bigtime!

Staying in Klang, BTW. I notice ppl from Shah Alam also facing MTU failures with their Xboxes.
