Hi there...

I'm using wrt54g ver 7....and my xbox 360 sould not recognized the IP address either wired or wireless.

Direct connection with streamyx model no problem. Laptop to router connection also no problem.

I don't really understand. Is it a compatibility issues? Should I tried wrt54g with lower revision?

What is your IP addy of your router? if its 192.168.25.xx, then your XBOX must have 192.168.25.yy. Don't use auto config, manually set your XBOX IP.

Very likely you have DHCP on, on your router, and that why you can connect to your laptop.

My router IP add is 192.168.1.1. I've manually tried to put the same IP add except .1 at the back changed to 102 following the IP ranged of the router. I beleive my laptop is using 101. The result, it still failed IP add checking.

You are right, I've set my router DHCP enable. Any other suggestion?

Try this :

- Disable all VPN settings
- Disable UpnP
- Make sure your DHCP IP range does not clash with your static IP

Already tried your suggestion. Still not working. Anyway what do you mean by your 3rd suggestion since I'm not using static ip?

In your DHCP setting in your router, you should have a range of IP that will be auto assigned to any DHCP enabled devices. For your XBOX, manually assign your IP to one that is not in that range.

Eg.

My router IP is 192.168.1.1
DHCP starting IP is 192.168.1.200
Can connect up to 5 clients, so it starts from 200 till 204.

Your Xbox use 192.168.1.2

Understand what you mean here...

My Router IP is 192.168.1.1
DHCP starting IP is 192.168.1.100

I've tried using 102, 103 and even put it beyond 104 which is also not working though...
