Added on May 14, 2007, 6:15 pmguys..i have a question here

is it 'wrong' to swim (front crawl) with a kicking board put between the legs and cross the feet?

i did that recently..find it a little hard to do the stroke..i thought that's because i'm not used to that 'style'

but then a kid was doing the same got scolded by his coach..i din hear what the coach said but i can guess from his gestures told the kid to do laps as punishment
*
there's nothing wrong with it instead its a very good to train ur upper body strength and maintaining balance without kicking.. but using a kick board, wouldn't it be a lil big? try a buoy instead.. thus, u'll find it easier to swim..

owh thanks man..i thought it's me who's doing it wrong

yeah it really helps to correct the hand stoke and would be easier using buoy..it's the smaller thing shaped like err bow tie..right?
*
yep yep.. if wan more hand power, try using a paddle as well..

why does people says WOOT! huh?
haha
really weird

anyways, swimming is the best exercise la for me...
it beats going to the gym...cuz working out serious boring
but swim also when ur beginning to feel sore and no more stretch when u rush...also boring...
haha...
gotta increase the intensity eh benzene?

so u recommended me the sets in one of the swimming thread in the health and fitness topic
how do i follow it
unlike gym, how do i follow those sets?
*
Try some interval training or fartlek swims. Here's something very simple to start off:
1x200 @ 4:30 EN1 Moderate }
10x50 @ 1:10 EN2 Fast/Hard } 1 set
1x100 @ 2:30 REC Easy Swim }

ok this is Andrew's recommendation..

can u tell me which part u don't understand? i'll elucidate it for u smile.gif
