i found something on 2nd July NST's Tech&U.
Quotes from parts of the full-page article regarding iPhone QUOTE Analysts believe Apple will be getting a share of subscriber revenue from AT&T. While AT&T maybe giving up a lot of its customary control of the handset's operations, Apple has given it a five-year US exclusive on the iPhone, another unheard-of deal for the industry, where six months is a more common exclusivity period. And while sharing revenue with Apple, it's not subsidising the retail price of the phone, which is otherwise the practice. Quoted from Page 7 of Tech&U of New Straits Times' Monday, July 2, 2007 this is interesting.does that mean that we might be getting US499 (approximately RM1,896) for a model with 4GB of storage, and US599 (approximately RM2,276) for an 8GB model??? but if compared to the trend laid by iPods, retail price will be way too ridiculous and maybe we have to fall back on bulk purchase for cheaper than retail cost(Malaysia, not US)??? |

Added on July 3, 2007, 5:51 pm QUOTE(Mike3300 @ Jul 2 2007, 04:32 PM) Don't you got the idea from the iPhone's iPod? Cover Flow represents the widescreen iPod and watch your video in widescreen mode. Watch the keynote to learn all out. I know this has widescreen capabilities. (tilts and all) But to me this is an iPhone or Widescreen iPod Nano (8gb). Yeah, I love the from 'fit to screen to widescreen' changing mode. I want the Widescreen iPod with more than 20gb. I just wished there is a 80gb Ipod without all those phone/safari etc. stuff. An iPod where I can dump 60 gigs of my videos/tv series inside and watch them. Yeah I know iPhone does this but the capacity (700mb for the system files wtf) turns me off. QUOTE(RangerRed @ Jul 2 2007, 08:45 PM) very nice walk through. But one question, when he came to the part of setting ringtones, iPhone can set mp3 as ringtunes? or we need to use custom ones? (T_T) Did anyone notice? |

iPhone Hacked
Yesterday, Jon Lech Johansen (DVD Jon) reported that he successfully activated the iPhone by bypassing iTunes' subscription process, without having to sign on to a two year contract with AT&T. This allows him to use the iPhone in his homeland (Norway), one of many countries where the iPhone is currently unavailable. Using his method, most of the phones features aren't available, however, using the iPhone as an iPod and WiFi-enabled device is fully functional. Whilst this is one step closer to a completely unlocked iPhone, it still does not have the capability to register itself with other networks (such as T-Mobile or Verizon Centennial Wireless), but where there's a will there's a way. source: insanelymac |
