Anyone willing to share how to get insider help? Put passbook with them and let them try whole day. Must you be their premium banking customer / regular customer / belanja kopi/ just make friends with their bank manager / etc.?

Need to have good relationship with the bank. Most likely need fat account sitting in the bank. wil-i-am care to share? Need priority customer?

So how did you leave your book at the counter? Priority customer or good relationship with the counter worker?

I think leaving over the counter is not for everyone...there's some risk involved and could be misleading to potential members...

My two centsĀ  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
There are 2 ways to leave at the counter
(i) leave cash and book with them
(ii) leave book and pay in the evening

Is good if you have good relationship with the bank (regular person) or big fat account. However I have neither so I try my luck

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ May 31 2016, 08:57 AM)
In fact, tis is not chance
Instead, tis is pure luck n timing
*
Not if you leave the book at the counter. Then is no longer luck and timing.

ASNB don't seem very keen to spend money on their infrastructure. Each state I see have only 1 (2 max)  branch. And some branch is quite cramped inside.
*
Why should they? More branch = more expenses. Also they have already outsource the operations to banks. You don't need so many branch when you have so many banks working for you.

For the record...wish to thank @Ramjade for 'unknowingly' promoting ASX to me. Your words "Ever since buying ASX, not considering other investments anymore"...or something like that (I saw this and thus here I am biggrin.gif)
*
Shit. sad.gif
But it's the truth. With a national interest fund with fixed price and excellent track record and frequent sold out for Chinese quota, it's one of a kind which made FD redundant for me.

Betul. I'm low risk taker and was hanging around in the FD thread and saw this...BAM

Actually I have ASX all this while, just that didn't know that can still buy biggrin.gif
*
You should move your FD to ASX (like what I am doing tongue.gif). Not PIDM protected but 20 years of excellent record even during bad times + fixed price = FD on steroids

Means bulk buying yet to start? ohmy.gif

It started during mega sales v1. BUt the main bulk buying will be done in November - December (if I am lucky). Remember, no insider help.

Why do most of you have a preference for ASW over ASM or AS1M, if let's say all 3 have units available? Dividend wise they are almost the same right...around 6.2-6.4% range?
*
Asw and asm have excellent track record. As1m made a loss of RM150m+ last year. Besides if you look at it, asw is always sold out which means it's very good or else there won't be any demand.

Some people already reach their limit for as1m. Hence targeting the other one.

You mean what things they invest in accord. to the prospectus?

For As1m, people here say AS1M is less received because of bad naming -1M.
*
For general public maybe. However people here are keeping on eye on as1m because of the RM150m loss and they have the least carried forward dividend. Only 0.5 compare to the rest.

Last trip to to top up my ASx today.  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif
All allocated $ for ASX are officially in by 4pm into 3 accounts now.
I've shifted remaining $ for ASW into ASM & AS1M for temporary parking to avoid losing 1 month of dividend. .

Managed to top up small 4 digits ASM for niece.

I've only tried ASW & AS1M for myself this time after this morning extraordinary success with ASM.

ASW- 0
AS1M- I specifically mentioned an odd figure as it's from the remaining $ from ASW. To my surprise, it went thru successfully. A good 5 digits! My bank staff said the total amount is looking very odd & I agreed to make it even but only managed to get the last 300u to make the passbook slightly neater.

Overall, my funds allocation now for  ASM: ASW: AS1M,  2+:1+:1. Will adjust later after ex dividends of every account. Today is my biggest haul of ASX and I had few moments of  ohmy.gif as it was too easy today.

My 'active' search for ASM, AS1M & ASW will stop today. It's easier having 3 accounts to 'play' with while waiting for availability.

With the current economic & political instability, I'm happy & easily contented with dividends just slightly higher than Fd rate.

Wish the rest of you all the 'BEST LUCK' in your search incoming days. icon_rolleyes.gif

For those who are so eager to invest in ASX, I wonder if you're well prepared for lower dividends?
Auntie twinkle entered ASX, not expecting a lot but hoping for better returns than FD only.
With 'FP' products, I'm more reassured knowing I have less to worry after experiencing many turbulent years investing in crappy UT & being swayed by so many 'smooth talkers' agents.
For those hunting today, good luck & hope you'll get what you want.
Auntie twinkle 'resting' unless I hear news of ASW mega sale. biggrin.gif
*
Not going to happen. They give good pay in 1998 and 2008 when everything else give bad returns. They give lower dividends, expect people to withdraw. One thin is if it drop below FD/same with with FD (for 2 years), I will withdraw.

Good morning to you.

Many will withdraw if drop below FD. I'm well prepared if dividend drop from 6+ to 5+ in future.
*
If mass withdrawal, bursa is going to be hit hard. Economy going to tank. I think the worse they will dare to give is 6% returns.

I think FD interest will goes up in tandem with the loan interest (Base Rate) which has been up lately.

If you visit the FD thread, it's a downwards trend.

Sorry, OTC....how is Kenanga vs Public Mutual?
Back in the 90s, dividend for ASB went as high as 13-14%. If there is other ASX back then, I think we could have been enjoying dividends around 9-10%.
*
Public mutual is just the name of the fund house. You will need to select the similar fund to compare orange with orange. You need to remember you straight lose out 3% if you go with public mutual vs KGF if you buy via FSM (you save 3%. With Public mutual, your fund will need to perform >5% just to break even. If it perform 9%, effectively you get 4%+.
ASX FP last time for non-bumi also 6.x%. No difference in dividend now and then. Difference is Inflation now is higher than last time.
