QUOTE(twinkle5129 @ Jun 23 2016, 02:38 PM)
FINAL day report:- I was only looking for 4 digits of ASW.

10:40- Baby units of ASW available.

Out for late b'fast at nearby Sanuki Udon.

11:15- Baby units of ASW.

Decided to stay on and read newspaper at the bank. Luckily bank staff was very kind and helped me to check every now and then until 1pm. In between, few more baby units available. Total 6 successful transactions from 10:40 to 1.05pm. Was about to leave after 5th transaction at 12.55pm but decided to try 1 last time and managed to get the last baby units to complete my ASW top up.

My ASX missions are accomplished. No more future plan for top up.   biggrin.gif

I've completed my personal target :-

AS1M=10/5/16- 1/6/16

ASM= 9/5/16- 1/6/16

ASW= 3/5/16- 23/6/16.

During this period, I'd only sacrificed my 'free' times for 4-6 visits/ day to few banks and spent very minimal on transportation. I've also contacted 3 banks customer services to complaint and compliment their staffs for the 1st time in my life.

notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif Thank you everyone for sharing useful infos here. All my passbooks are  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif .

Actually your track record is impressive for 6 digit/book. rclxms.gif Some people who worked in the bank to topup RM15k, took a month! (someone posted)

BTW, for those interested, Affin Bank Bukit Tinggi allow one to leave your ASX FP book there with your Affin SA book there. The amount you can topup how much you want (depend on how much is inside your SA). No SA book, no talk. You don't need to be a priority customer to do this. If you want to leave the book there, need to ask the staff can or not. The staff told me no problem. Can just leave it there but must have money inside SA then we can try for you.

That's why I love Affin Bank so much. High FD rates, no queue, never push any products to their customers; priority services without the need of one being a priority customer. rclxm9.gif rclxms.gif biggrin.gif

I wonder why some of you can invest 4 digit 5 digit but can't even buy 100 unit for open account??

Is it reserved?
*
Nope like I said topping up is easier than opening account.

Mind to clarify what is that?
*
It's all a will for amanah saham. A normal will transfer the amanah saham in terms of cash to next of kin and it takes time. What Pengisytiharan does it transfer the units to next of kin in terms of units, and is very much faster than will.

if u open juvenille account for your kids, next time kids reach 18 yrs old, automatic can access that fund, no need the pengistiharan ASX will, more important can save few thousands RM if for big amount.
*
Is for in case you are gone. Your units will be given to your kids in cash if don't have pengisytiharan.

QUOTE(guy3288 @ Jun 24 2016, 09:38 PM)
would that reduce the ASX dividend to 5% or less? if not me will stay put.

if switch out to other funds, what u have in mind that can give good returns?
*
I highly doubt. Sifu, please inform if you are selling ASW2020. drool.gif

wait till dividend falls below FD rates....or FD rates go higher than ASX return.
not easy to find returns of 6+% with similar risk. UTs? i just bought KGF and CIMB GTF and it has gone down also....
*
Like that also I pulled out lo.
Btw, you might want to wait it out or sell titans as it have exposure to Europe.

QUOTE(filage @ Jun 25 2016, 09:53 AM)
If you have Pengisytiharan Amanah, means any existing will- will not include your ASX anymore? Like if you put I will distribute 50% of this and that wealth to who in your will. So P. Amanah will deal with your ASX exclusively and your other will only effects other asset you have?
*
From what I understand, yes. But let others who are much more knowledgeable comment.

QUOTE(kkk8787 @ Jun 25 2016, 10:09 AM)
actually thinking back, FD nowadays is 4.3 roughly while our ASX funds is around 6%. So in a way u r earning around 2% only. That is with a lot of hard labour. Imagine lets say u have 200k in it which will take a lot a lot of effort just to get the units. Extra 2% compared to FD is like 4k extra only yearly? to get the units for 200k is a lot of hard work already
*
Extra rm4k you don't want? shocking.gif . Not really hard labour if:
(i) you topup during mega sales
(ii) you can leave your book there (affin bank bkt tinggi without being priority customer/have good relationship with the bank)

Think about it. Rm4k for 3 years already RM12k. You lose rm12k in 3 years if you just put in FD. Not to mention now all banks are reducing the rates to 4.2%. By end of this year could be 4%. I am sorry. I am not going to lose that RM4 if I have that much money.

QUOTE(Andrew_1980 @ Jun 25 2016, 10:19 AM)
So you invest FD or ASX?
*
In the process of transferring all FDs to ASX FP.

ya if u can leave ur book there, its really good. I was just hoping it can go even higher , lets say 8%, that will be great. Maybe just a tad too greedy. Now Im still doing the hardwork of going ASNB every now and then. Oh ya thanks bro Ramjade u were the one who intro to me ASX a while back
*
You can forget about 8%. Even 7% for bumi nowadays also hard. If want 8%, look elsewhere. No problem.

After my dividend has been paid,  does it automatically become units if I don't withdraw it?
*
Usually dividends will be given as units. However it's up to securities commission to approve that. If they don't approve asnb will issue cheque.

Dividend for UT is not important. The only exception is ASX FP. tongue.gif

Then choose ASX will be better then?
*
Of course. FD only 4.3%. With current situation, all banks are reducing their FDs interest. ASX FP is a hybrid FD/FD on steroid. Why?
(i) Fixed RM1/unit
(ii) Instant liquidity
(iii) Gives you 6.x% p.a

For me personally, putting in FD is redundant with lower interest. sad.gif dry.gif

well ASX seems like a good choice. Replying to above posts. But like me I have quite a big sum of money stuck in Fundsupermart. All the funds performing terribly. No way of getting it out for now

*

Takut see people with 100k or 200k (or more!) in ASX.   I think I have to quit my job and stay in the bank to try every 30 mins to get that amount.  Haha.
*
If you topup 4 figure, you will reach 100k or even 200k. eventually. smile.gif Just take time.

*
Cimb bank memang problematic in opening. Is like nationwide rule. Try maybank/rhb/affin/post office.

Wow, what an achievement , well done. So you reckon 200k/account is the reasonable amount to park?
*
Each person target is different. Some target RM200k/ RM1M. Mine is RM100k/account.

Mind to explain why this period is really good to hit our luck at ASNB?
*
That was last year. Megasales v1. Try any amount/time sure can get. Most of us top up until we were broke and the units kept coming.
