Kodi and others media developers didn't find out the loop-hole before it was exposed either. Even with the latest patched. that doesn't mean there won't be another one.
There's a saying in IT, no software can be deemed 100% safe or loop-hole free. It's only a matter of time until someone with the right skills and dedication cracks something. But guess what, I'll still trust the security devs in Kodi & the open source community versus proprietary software. That proprietary software you think is safe may not actually be safe. However, Kodi is open-source - meaning that anyone can download, scrutinize and use it or alter it for others to take advantage of. Which also means that bugs and loopholes are found faster by the community than with a proprietary software. If there's another one found, I trust it will be closed asap.
In fact, you stand a higher chance of opening up your device (especially PCs) from a loophole that comes with installing a build without knowing exactly what went into its creation.. I do not condone using builds anymore. Except personal ones, as in create for easy installation for family and friends. Most third-party addons are a security risk already.
