hmm.gif  hmm.gif owh..Thanks Avfan smile.gif  okay..so most of you are not using m3u list? cause when i google video to setup kodi all of their tutorial is to insert w3u list. I shall do more homework then  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

most people use kodi for the addons.

addons can be for vod or live tv.

using m3u is another means to get live tv.

i find to difficult and troublesome to maintain such lists every day.

there are other apps that have daily auto updates or at least they claim.

of which u can read up:
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3115619/+520

there is no guaranteed free rides for anything good.

so, try whatever u can, use what u find good enough!

Project Cypher addon still rocks.. However, I'd still recommend getting a good paid IPTV service. Most come with auto-updated (on their server end) m3u and EPG lists. You setup with the PVR IPTV Simple Client addon.. Each time you load Kodi, It fetches the latest list from the provider and matches with EPG, Logos, etc... Just launch the Live TV section and voila!! You in business. Depending on how frequently you use the TV, you can set how frequently it should update the channels and EPG list. For such paid services, Google is your pal. nod.gif

Here's my understanding:

Library -- For all your media, it can include items from your add-ons and whatever local media you have on your system or network. This is where you go when you select TV Shows or Movies from the front screen, so it is a lot faster than going through the add-on. It's the main KODI library.
Collection – This is exactly like the Kodi library integration, except it can sync with your Trakt account and works across multiple add-ons! You can add a show to your collection in say Velocity and it will appear in Exodus and vice-versa.
Watchlist – Your watchlist lets you add and keep track of shows you aren’t watching yet but have an interest in.
Favorites -- Official explanation...

Sure.. you can do that.. Except that most malicious code are obfuscated.. aka, hidden in plain sight.. biggrin.gif  Remember that each time you manually download and run a subtitle, never know if it's gonna be the last time your device is safe.. tongue.gif

Kodi and others media developers didn't find out the loop-hole before it was exposed either. Even with the latest patched. that doesn't mean there won't be another one.

There's a saying in IT, no software can be deemed 100% safe or loop-hole free. It's only a matter of time until someone with the right skills and dedication cracks something. But guess what, I'll still trust the security devs in Kodi & the open source community versus proprietary software. That proprietary software you think is safe may not actually be safe. However, Kodi is open-source - meaning that anyone can download, scrutinize and use it or alter it for others to take advantage of. Which also means that bugs and loopholes are found faster by the community than with a proprietary software. If there's another one found, I trust it will be closed asap.

In fact, you stand a higher chance of opening up your device (especially PCs) from a loophole that comes with installing a build without knowing exactly what went into its creation.. I do not condone using builds anymore. Except personal ones, as in create for easy installation for family and friends. Most third-party addons are a security risk already.

No.

W/o vpn, can get good stuff.

Paid vpns, esp those tailored for kodi should work better.

Free vpns do not work at all with kodi.

Dude, I was actually being nice and replied your posts as if nothing was amiss. I suspected you are here to spam links and this will be your last and only warning.. Do not repeat this lest I be forced to report and have your posts removed.. Might even lead to this account being suspended. I'm sure you have other dupes.. But quit it.
