Care to give some guess reasons why an application like Kodi needs to be customized ? What is it they have done to the app ?

Try sideload both bit of the apk.

Already tried and confirmed that only 32bit apps can be installed but for this Kodi, it can't be installed over via google play or package installer.

I could use a more forceful method to install ( such as uninstall first ) but I am afraid of losing features which the firmware developer has incorporated inside the customized Kodi.

try to establish if indeed the kodi is customized or not and if so, and what advantages u will lose if u use common version.

afaik, most are not customized.

both my devices, 17.0 onwards, all updates till 17.4 now have been auto, need not do anything.

I have confirmed the apk which comes with the firmware vs the one downloaded from official website, they are signed by different entities.

jarsigner -verify -verbose kodi_xxx.apk.

Maybe enable the dev options can fix it. Worth a try though.

Have u found Kodi at market? Maybe later can sideload Kodi after uninstall.

Simple solution.. Lose the pre-installed Kodi and by lose I mean complete uninstall/nuke.. Install official Kodi and setup afresh manually. It's just the MXQ Pro+, AFAIK, they do not possess a specialized/custom version, similar to the likes of XBMC For Minix, SPMC, etc. If you noticed, those names will never call themselves Kodi as that title is trademarked and copyrighted. Besides, whatever they have pre-installed is probably junk anyway.

If the official V17.4/V17.3 doesn't take, then you may have to downgrade to Jarvis or other good forks.

now u need to find out if that is the only version that works properly with the box and updates will come.
because there will be 17.5, 18.0, etc.
see if u can google and find forums discussing this box.

typically, u can uninstall, remove everything and reinstall the playstore version, now at 17.4.
the chipset of yr box is a common one, android6, albeit a lacking firmware, should be ok.
maybe w/o audio passthru but will work nevertheless, audio 2.0.

same things happened .. i think something was missing on the file structure. Do I have to create the folder/sub folders for Kodi ?

plan to stream uefa game abt arsenal game later tonight. been use project chyper but his link most can't streamable in my end. (problem = when click the channel nothing happen) . i on kodi 16.0 my box is mxq 4k. unifi 50mbps.

any friend can recommend? and sportdevil is reliable or not?

I see.. Well, I was able to add the url into file manager, install the repo, access the "video addons" section within the repo and install the Android Republica addon. Tested and the addon works as intended. All was done in one smooth motion, no issues whatsoever..

Using the Android Republica build now and lovin it. Less work to get the addons and love the skin. Just need to add some anime stuff. Hehe.
