QUOTE(voncrane @ Feb 6 2017, 03:04 PM) With the release of Krypton... Quote from the Kodi forums that gives a very good explanation about Kodi and Android moving forward. woo... this is hard hitting! QUOTE You could say all the chickens have now coming home to roost for various Hardware platforms since Kodi Krypton has been released. Many Android TV's and dirt cheap AMLogic devices have been stripped naked and been found wanting in their implementations and support of Mediacodec. And for Audio, the Google IEC Audio standard. All we can say is users of such rubbish Firmware platforms need to bug the hell out of the Seller or Hardware Chipset vendors for bug busted Firmware updates (good luck !) or get real familiar with the Freaktab Website and DIY Firmware installs. There is nothing Kodi can do. The custom code hacks have gone the way of the dinosaur and Android Kodi Krypton onwards is now using standard programming API's, the way Google intended. Normally I would say, ditch Android all together and use LibreELEC Kodi on AML S8xx/S905 hardware but the S912 cannot even do that as there is no LibreELEC Kodi support for such a S912 platform. The AML S912 is the worst combo for a getting a decent, reliable Kodi Krypton implementation going out of the box. I would urge users to send such S912 hardware back to where they bought it if they don't like DIY projects. meaning if any device not running kodi 17 krypton properly now may face even more issues later... |

QUOTE(Khalid21 @ Feb 6 2017, 05:45 PM) this is used in himedia q10pro.so far, krypton works fine EXCEPT for dd/dts 5.1 pass thru for online streaming. so, now... only aac 2.0. hopefully, next firmware with improved "wrapper" will fix it. the other chipset... no idea. it is also about the firmware, not just the chipset. QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 6 2017, 05:39 PM) woo... this is hard hitting! Exactly... meaning if any device not running kodi 17 krypton properly now may face even more issues later... QUOTE(Khalid21 @ Feb 6 2017, 05:45 PM) It's not just about the processor. Processors are capable, only that future firmware must implement and support Mediacodec and for audio, the Google IEC Audio standard....where Kodi is concerned. So if current manufacturers push out a firmware update, including precise fixes? Then all should be well in the world. Else wait for future hardware and if Kodi is important to you, only buy from reliable manufacturers. |

DTS was unsuccessful.but not hilisicon and realtek 905 still more practical for now lucky i got mini mx3 with minix u1 firmware on it... Minix are official diamond sponsors of the XBMC Foundation and are known to cooperate. Same applies to Wetek, Nvidia, Alienware, etc. So for the Neo U1, being a flagship device and all, an update is expected. Though I wouldn't hold my breadth as there are very concrete plans to launch its successor, the Neo U9 or U9-H (unsure of model name at the moment). They would be shooting themselves in the foot if it's announced without full Krypton and above support.. |

Hi Guys,
Noted some ppl using superbox build. May i ask what are the dependencies ? i tried it on a fresh Jarvis but error log denotes the executables not valid. Tried googling but i think there isn't a official site, unless i really missed it. Currently i am testing No Limits Build. |

QUOTE(Khalid21 @ Feb 6 2017, 08:11 PM) It should but hey, we'll see about that.... Alright back to Kodi talk.. Can discuss more about boxes in the Android boxes thread.. QUOTE(jeisern @ Feb 6 2017, 10:30 PM) Hi Guys, Try again.. I'm not using it but from my past experience with builds.. They can be a bit finicky... Sometimes, the downloaded file is corrupted and or during installation-extraction, some files get messed up. So completely uninstall Jarvis, re-download the build using a PC and transfer onto USB.. Try to install again.Noted some ppl using superbox build. May i ask what are the dependencies ? i tried it on a fresh Jarvis but error log denotes the executables not valid.
