so far, krypton works fine EXCEPT for dd/dts 5.1 pass thru for online streaming.

so, now... only aac 2.0.

hopefully, next firmware with improved "wrapper" will fix it.


the other chipset... no idea.

it is also about the firmware, not just the chipset.

kodi personally mention not support amlogic 905x and 912

but not hilisicon and realtek


905 still more practical for now

It's not just about the processor. Processors are capable, only that future firmware must implement and support Mediacodec and for audio, the Google IEC Audio standard....where Kodi is concerned. So if current manufacturers push out a firmware update, including precise fixes? Then all should be well in the world. Else wait for future hardware and if Kodi is important to you, only buy from reliable manufacturers.

I'm still running Krypton on the Neo U1. So far, only able to get DD Passthrough.. DTS was unsuccessful.

Minix are official diamond sponsors of the XBMC Foundation and are known to cooperate. Same applies to Wetek, Nvidia, Alienware, etc. So for the Neo U1, being a flagship device and all, an update is expected. Though I wouldn't hold my breadth as there are very concrete plans to launch its successor, the Neo U9 or U9-H (unsure of model name at the moment). They would be shooting themselves in the foot if it's announced without full Krypton and above support..

Normally I would say, ditch Android all together and use LibreELEC Kodi on AML S8xx/S905 hardware but the S912 cannot even do that as there is no LibreELEC Kodi support for such a S912 platform. The AML S912 is the worst combo for a getting a decent, reliable Kodi Krypton implementation going out of the box.

I would urge users to send such S912 hardware back to where they bought it if they don't like DIY projects

I dunno... Custom built / patch perhaps...

Hi Guys,

Noted some ppl using superbox build. May i ask what are the dependencies ? i tried it on a fresh Jarvis but error log denotes the executables not valid. Tried googling but i think there isn't a official site, unless i really missed it.

Currently i am testing No Limits Build.

Try again.. I'm not using it but from my past experience with builds.. They can be a bit finicky... Sometimes, the downloaded file is corrupted and or during installation-extraction, some files get messed up. So completely uninstall Jarvis, re-download the build using a PC and transfer onto USB.. Try to install again.

No video no audio, unless i disable passthrough

Btw i local network stream my video from pc, is that consider online streaming?
