v17 krypton is very nice looking, very good feel.

but... u should use it only if yr box has android 5 or higher AND u do not care about DD/DTS audio.

this is used in himedia q10pro.

so far, krypton works fine EXCEPT for dd/dts 5.1 pass thru for online streaming.

so, now... only aac 2.0.

hopefully, next firmware with improved "wrapper" will fix it.
the other chipset... no idea.

it is also about the firmware, not just the chipset.

It's streaming over LAN. Not really "online" in the regular sense of the word, since it does not require an active internet connection to happen like some video addons such as YouTube.

u r using mibox, right?

kodi17, think u will not get pass thru at all, whether online streams, smb/file sharing pc or local usb playback.

i m not sure if there is a native player provided by manufacturer in yr box which should work.

if all fails, u just go back to kodi 16.1.

the above issues exist for a lot of boxes for dd/dts - u can read u the recent posts put by by voncrane on this matter.

box makers are now expected to do more work on their own firmwares to get audio pass thru with kodi 17/android5 onwards.

i don't even know this box... so chances are....

arr... u mean there is a player but no media center for networking.

the only way then is to return to 16.1 is is not so bad!
