some info on the 'transfer cable'... Data From Two Xbox 360 HDDs Can't Be Combined On 120GB DriveQUOTE The 120GB drive will only store information from the last drive transferred, meaning that any attempt to transfer more than one drive will overwrite the previous one. Furthermore, all contents previously written to the 120GB drive be automatically deleted. Also, once the data has been moved from a 20GB to a 120GB drive, it cannot be moved back to the 20GB drive. Presumably, a special cable will facilitate the transfer of data from one drive to the other. QUOTE(MK84 @ Mar 29 2007, 01:13 PM) Ler just buy the SATA transfer kit if you want to transfer files between several hdd unit. If you read the article, it will erase ur old HDD when you do the transfer...and it will only retained data from 1 particular HDD transfer...so ur screwed if you have more than 1. It's like auto formatting. The transfer cable is kinda useless even if you get it out of the box. Yes! you can use a SATA cable or an external USB HDD but that's not the point. Why design something and then put a restriction. I honestly believe that the people who are interested in the 120GB either have 2/more or tired of transferring data back and forth between external drive.

Extract from Joystix original post regarding the new 120 GB HDD QUOTE So, a much bigger Xbox 360 hard drive is a good thing, right? Well ... not when it comes with some fairly crippling conditions. Wired has the skinny on some of the small print on Microsoft's new little "Elite" storage device:
You cannot put the data from two or more 20 GB hard disks onto one 120 GB hard disk. If you attempt to move multiple drives, only the last one you move will be stored.
You can only move data from the 20GB Hard Disk to the 120 GB Hard Disk. Transferring data in the other direction, or any other combination, is not possible.
Any data stored on the 120 GB hard disk will be automatically deleted.
Any data stored on the 20 GB hard disk will be automatically deleted after it is moved over.
Once you move the data over, it cannot be placed back on the original hard disk. This post has been edited by oniee: Mar 29 2007, 12:59 PM

After all the hoo-ha about Xbox 360 Elite... I found out that it will be Exclusive to North American owners only. Japan don't intend to have a Xbox 360 Elite for it... so will there be an Asian version remains to be seen...

That's the main reason I'd buy Elite 360

Well, XBOX 360 is selling poorly in Japan so I seriously doubt that they're gonna release the Elite version there. As for Asian version, if Japan doesn't get it, I guess pretty much know the verdict for an Asian version. I guess sooner or later, the premium and core ones will come with HDMI output, as for the HDD, 20GB is sufficient unless you download every single game from XBOX Live. Even my old XBOX's 8GB HDD was more than enough for me despite having played and saved many games on it. I guess the need for 120GB is not a necessity yet. HDMI maybe if future games support 1080P, no point scalling 720P games to 1080P, it won't result a better picture.

|
so it's not the 65 nm chip? The 479 price tag are equal to a Core set + 120GB HDD. M$ not giving any chance for cheaper set. Bah...
