I really like 1 comment in that site:
"The pic also begs the question, how will one use optical audio and HDMI? I realize HDMI carries the audio but I'm not about to trot out and buy a new receiver that handles HDMI switching. That said, I'm not about to replace my current 360 for HDMI either..."

Now....for sure...if it is true...most people would not only need to buy a new xbox 360..but a new HT receiver too...sigh....

There goes my budget for PS3....lol...just kidding..DJinn..still no news on PS3 singapore version pricing???? Not forget to mention..the xbox 360 elite pricing too...

Excerpt from teamxbox.com on sony reaction:

Ahead of the official announcement, Sony has responded to Microsoft's Xbox 360 Elite. Peter Dille, senior vice president of marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment America, said:

"We think every PlayStation 3 owner should have an "elite" experience, which is why we include an internal hard drive and HDMI output in every PS3 we sell, along with the 50 GB of storage capacity on a high definition Blu-ray disc. Sony has been the strongest advocate of high definition as the future of next-generation gaming. This requires high-definition components, including HDMI output, and large storage devices to deliver and store all that rich and vivid HD content. Microsoft's announcement today not only legitimizes Sony's PS3 strategy, it moves us closer to adopting universal standards in the area of high definition gaming that will benefit game developers and ultimately the end user.

Maybe I should add Peter Dille response..... an elite experience with few interesting game titles to play with[cool.gif.... doh.gif

QUOTE(izaman @ Mar 28 2007, 08:27 PM)
any news regarding asian version?

about this secret thingy, IMHO, microsoft want to launch it next month but with the news leaked everywhere, they have to release this product.

Added on March 28, 2007, 8:47 pmafter second thought, i think i will go for white version. imagine this:

black console
black controller
black battery
white second controller
white wireless steering wheel
white wireless adapter

eventhough it is still 3 black vs 3 white , but....it is still weird considering x360 is considered hiasan dalaman for me.

After all the hoo-ha about Xbox 360 Elite... I found out that it will be Exclusive to North American owners only. Japan don't intend to have a Xbox 360 Elite for it... so will there be an Asian version remains to be seen...

damn.....i can always get it from US..but...when think about external transformer..and the pricing of uS games..no way i'm going to invest for something that i'm going to regret later...by the way, is it 100% confirms..it's only for US & European market??? doh.gif

Who needs Elite anyhow..latest news..as I predicted earlier in this thread...

Microsoft prepping component to HDMI adapter?

"Friendly tipster Evan M wasn't too stoked to see an Xbox 360 Elite headed for store shelves after he'd just purchased a Premium 360, especially considering the fact that his TV has a whole HDMI port twiddling its thumbs, just waiting to get its game on. After informing Microsoft of his displeasure through what we're sure was a politely worded email, Evan claims to have received a slightly encouraging response from a Microsoft support person, promising an upcoming HDMI to component adapter for the 'box to make his situation perhaps a bit more bearable. Unfortunately, the support person also mentioned that "we do not have information as of the moment if the cable will be sold separately," which might mean such an adapter is only destined for sales with some sort of updated Premium SKU, at least for the immediate future. We'll keep our eyes peeled."

If only hollywood will allow it???? Hmmm..another well kept secret from Microsoft again... doh.gif

Most people will buy the elite because of the hdmi connection...especially for 1080p resolution for their xbox 360 and hd-dvd add on. Whoever said there is no difference at all if compared with the component input ....is really a jock. As in my case, I even c a different that the red push in my lcd tv is already disappear when I cahnge my connection from componet input to vga for 1080p resolution...for both of my xbox and hd-dvd add on. I believe the PQ through hdmi input ..will be at par or even better than my current vga connection....

i'm guessing all new 360s manufactured in august'07 and beyond have extra heatsinks. the problem is many unsold stocks still exist for the 360 in the US. thats why they announce a pricedrop to sell off the old models, i think.
