QUOTE(cy97 @ Dec 5 2007, 08:50 PM)
Warranty is very important. I bought my v3101 one and half years ago. Luckily i extend the warranty under HP ONE CARE. It only cost me RM299 for extended 2 years warranty. (total 3 years) You must extend it within 30 days after purchase or else it would be costly to extend. If not mistaken it would cost you RM250 a year.

Recently i my laptop would turn on. So since the warranty is on site next working day warranty, the engineer actually came to my office the third day  (not so bad). And i he replace the mother board for me in front of me and take less than a hour to do so. Since the laptop has not much spare part as most of it are integrated in the mother board, it would cost you a bomb if you do not carry a warranty.

Good lucks guy without warranty one...hehe
*
Good point also. Thanks for telling that.

by the way, just in case, this lappy has been with me for 3 months already, how can i extend the warranty?

mind explain it to us to benefit the whole community?

3 months still can but you have to pay a slightly higher price i guess.
The benefit is all parts of the laptop has 3 years warranty except battery which only carry 1 year warranty. So within 3 years you can any part of your laptop repaired unless it is caused by human negligence such as pouring water on your laptop because when the engineer open up the casing he can detect burn mark and hp may ask you to pay for it. Other than that everything is free and you dun have to bring it to the centre. HP will send engineer to your place. So if you have just purchased your laptop better get extended warranty as our laptop is very fragile.
*
Ic, now this is what people call on site engineer huh...good...but the price to pay is kinda too high...

so it's depends on individual whether the price is worth to pay or not.

thanks for the information though..=)

never heard of that b4..i tot they give fix price?

GUYS
in order to claim ur waranty, be sure that u fulfill these criteria.
1. make sure ur pc prob is realy occuring that often till they notice it when u giv it to them.
2. don try to make ur pc even worse, they wont help u if they found that u PURPOSELY did that.
3. plz be sure to insert back the ORI ram with the waranty stickers on it back to ur lappie b4 u turn out for waranty claim
4. don say the truth unles the truth is the truth..(eg:u wack ur lappie coz u download stupid stuff from stupid sites and it damage ur lcd..bla bla bla.tink they wont help u then..)
5. u don nd the receipt to claim waranty, just ur name, ic and hp num will do.
6. double check ur waranty expiry thru HP & Compaq teleservice, thou its realy time consuming..they ask u to press numbers just like when u call for 122 for hotlink and 126 for digi stuff..haiz..long way to reach the operator..

hope this help for 1st timer as to claim waranty.. smile.gif
*
Good, thanks for the info. i used to claim warranty from O2, not so sure about HP yet...but i will definitely send back to them before my warranty ends to try my luck for getting some new parts.

if like that, i just want to use 512mb...better save money to buy GC for my pc.

Dual-channel mean DDR/DDR2 SDRAM describes a motherboard technology that effectively doubles data throughput from RAM to the memory controller. Dual-channel-enabled memory controllers utilize two 64-bit data channels, resulting in a total bandwidth of 128-bits, to move data from RAM to the CPU.

i think 1GB is the best for this lappy...lol...

thanks for the information dude..i check using everest, really 128bit liao..haha
