i upgraded my bios too..ntg special thou..juz some syok sendiri and still the same old stuff.

QUOTE(tplcaik @ Apr 16 2008, 03:29 PM)
It is normal. Compaq models generate heat easily especially AMD platform.
*
i Know, update bios like syok sendiri oni. i think got bug fixes la..
i know amd platform is abit hotter, but this is too ridiculous....normal use also can go up to 85C, wtf??

the story is like that...I send my lappy to service center b4...b4 i send, my processor can only run at 1.8ghz full, canot set to other frequency...

then after get my lappy back from HP service center, the engineer claims that he change mobo and update bios for me...but then go home i try, i can set processor speed liao...terkejut....i mean if u set on control panel power option to portable/laptop, it will stay 800mhz, and when u set to home/office it will stay on 1.8ghz, if u set to always on, it till be jumping around from 800mhz 0.8v to 1.8ghz 1.1 v....i like that feature....i duno what he did to my lappy, at first i tot update biosthen got this feature liao...this is good to monitor the heat...

but problem starts when i formatted my lappy recently...it set back to all same, no mather u set what in the power option, it will jump around from 800mhz to 1.8ghz....i duno why, canot set liao....i mean if we r travelling we wan to save power, we want to set it to always 800mhz to monitor heat and batery power ritght??

i suspect is the chipset driver...anyone punya lappy run like what i say above kah? can i have ur chipset driver and proc driver?

lol.. i changed to vista n de processor less heat but gpu still very hot arh.. same heat like xp when playing game =.= going to get cooling pad and upgrade ram cuz vista too slow for my 1gb T.T
*
by the way, i would like to know where is the location of the GPU? I feel very weird, coz if mine hits around 80c, then it must be super hot at the bottom when i touch...but i tried examine the bottom of my lappy Proc 45, HDD 50, i only feel this 2 place hot....if u know what i mean...

QUOTE(schizophrenic @ Apr 18 2008, 02:46 AM)
I asked because you said "doesnt matter vista or not..as long as windows 64 bit then can get 4GB RAM ady..."
so does this imply that a 32 bit system will not be able to support 4gb ram
and as long as the system is on 64bit then 4gb ram is not a problem?
*
from what i know, only 64 bit windows OS can detect ur 4GB Ram if u add untill 4GB..correct me if im wrong..

er..i tot notebook hardware control can do the job to fix my speed there at 800 if i realy want it to...it works for me.

*
tried b4..noteook hardware controller cant control if ur lappy punya power option at control panel canot control...NHC is jst making a simple and user friendly interface for it's user.

u mind to try? do u have amd power monitor? try open up amd power monitor, then set at control paner--->power option-->portable laptop.....see the proc frequency fix at 800 or not...ofcoz when u test, dun open NHC.

tried amd power monitor.haha.tell u sumting.notebook hardware control can control the cpu spped as well.u open both system together and u adjust the cpu speed control in nhc.change to max performance(u will get 1.6), change to max battery(u will get 800)..the power monitor shows the change as well when u change in the nhc setting for "CPU speed".
*
i know....NHC got nothing to do with this actually...if ur chipset driver or proc driver supports(im not sure which one. thats why im asking), then no need nhc u also can change the proc speed using control panel-->power option....if u know what i mean...

can i know where u download ur chipset driver from and the driver version? i think my version doesnt support..

i suggest u turn of nhc and use only MD power monitor to control and see can or not..

The speed.. XP im not really sure la.. but if for vista it 100% can.. it tested  thumbup.gif

somemore nhc make slower a lot in boot time..
*
i dun think is OS problem..lastime my lappy canot...only set at 1.8GHZ full speed..canot even dynamic switching..but then after i get my lappy back from HP SC, can set everything..very happy...i tot update bios can liao...but then after i format, can only dynamic switching no mather what power option profile i set..so weird...

i reckon is a driver problem, not sure is chipset driver or proc driver..

but y use the software when u can juz adjust it in the power option of the control panel?blur..but for me i don think we need to set anything..juz set as dynamic change is ok liaw..speed up cpu when necessary. driver version for wat?bios?i got my full drivers from the shop i buy.they provide me the driver cd they compile themself.consider a lucky person./
*
ok...can u send me ur chipset driver and proc driver? i also got from the shop....

im saying.. I duno its XP come with dynamic, power balance and etc setting or not.. but vista have this function they doesnt need install extra application.

vista also can dual screen(2 monitor).
I tested using vista ultimate(trail) on 1.6ghz 1.5ram = lag
vista home basic(trail) works fine but found bug.. text document cannot run after used for few day  rclxub.gif

but vista sidebar is a nice thing  thumbup.gif
*
i see...that's why i say, it's not because of OS, i think is the driver problem...b4 format can, after format canot liao..

vista built in, xp need download patch from amd site.
*
what kinda patch? patch to enable us to set 800Mhz only, jump from 800Mhz to full speed and set at only full speed only? I've download some patch from AMD site but now my proc only can set 1.8Ghz only and jump around....canot set only 800Mhz..how rr?

i personally like XP more than vista, although vista hv a more beautiful interface.

the vista now r sucks, just now i want to ply games with my frend through LAN using the cable that i bring, he cant even connect to my game, and somemore gt hang be4 starting the game, and my window XP perform more faster than his dell XPS with window vista..

wait until the vista SP2 come out then u switch, or wait for window XP completely kick out.

i dont think using window vista on laptop is a good idea, but if desktop then different story lar.
*
normal for vista and XP about LAN...still need to wait Windows to figure out this problem...

QUOTE(Shufflerz @ Apr 21 2008, 05:54 PM)
Question, please do not ignore me.
My V3203AU can't boot at all now.
When i press the power button, the light everything is on, but nothing on the screen.
My hdd is running, ram okay also, and I've tried to connect a monitor with my laptop, nothing came out also.
So, what's the problem?
*
Mobo burn maybe...lots of case happen liao....b4 ur problem come...have u check ur GPU heat b4?

Erm, I suspected mobo burn also.
This is all the test I've done so far.
1. Ram - tested on another laptop : Work
2. Hdd - tested with a external case : Work

About the heat, I never check my laptop heat cause I not really care about that.
My laptop on for 24/7 without a cooler pad for almost 10 months already.
I mean I do close sometime when I was outstation.
So far no problem, until today, totally cannot on.
*
bingo...now we see the problem...you should monitor ur GPU heat...that's the culprit...from what i heard from forumer here is...GPU too hot and burn off some components on the mobo that caused that...so u might wan to send back to service center for a new mobo...nothing to do with RAM nor HDD.

QUOTE(digswell @ Apr 21 2008, 07:59 PM)
Actually AMD turion proc support cool & queit.
cool & queit is a system will cool down the proc with lower vcore and proc speed .So the proc temp will no very high and juz a lil bit lost performance
the proc will speed up when u loading program and speed down when in idle
the vcore so work together
to enable CnQ for Vista is enable option balanced
and to enable for xp u nid to install 2 amd proc driver
1 is AMD Dual-Core Optimizer and other 1 is AMD Processor Driver Version 1.3.2.0053 for Windows XP
after install nid to restart and enable minimal power management at power schemes in power option

Download driver here
*
I understand ur point, infact, i do...

but my point here is...i want my proc to be able to set it to use 800Mhz only...now my proc is running like u said, power down when idle and power up when load more stuffs...im using xp by the way, and last time i cant set it to only 800mhz after i get my lappy back from service center,(duno what the engineer did to my lappy).....so now after i format, i cant set it anymore. so i suspect it's a software problem, not har5dware, coz hardware definitely support...

i already install that 1.3.2.0053 already still no effect...please help

bro, didnt quite understand what u want...  rclxub.gif  but i hv play ard with the power option, set it to Power Saver,
the proc remains at 800Mhz.. shud i change to Balanced or High Performance, it will go up and down between
800Mhz to 1600Mhz..

[attachmentid=450134]

wonder this wut u want??
*
yes...i want to monitor my heat...when it's too hot, i wan my proc to run at 800mhz only, not more than that....means full load also will set at 800mhz....thanks by the way..=)

how u set to power saver? balanced and high performance?

only wan to run 800mhz only ?
then u can use CrystalCPUID ..load it when finish loading windows ..
u can set wat speed u wan mean....from multipier 4x to 9x or 10x depend wat proc u use
u can set the multipier at function AMD K6 / k7 / k8 / lx

download from here

after u create the shotcut ....u can put into startup folder .then windows will auto load for u
*
thanks man...
i tried b4, but using RM CLOCK....this kinda software kinda risky because we under volt it and underclock sometimes without following what is supposed to...i use rm clock to do the job but if once a small wrong setting will get u to BSOD....
happend few times liao..hahahah..

im looking for a proc driver or something like chipset driver to enable our own XP control panel power option to set it to 800mhz by only set the option to Portable'laptop...after get my lappy back from hp service center i can do the setting, duno what the engineer did to my laptop...i call him back he said he change MOBO and update bios only...i see my bios also latest now after i format my lappy....but now canot set the proc speed like i can set at power option ady...

any solution?

QUOTE(ence @ May 1 2008, 01:49 PM)
Can anyone help me with this please, my HP tx2032 seems to get heated very fast... Running idle with YM, MSN, AVG registered processor temp of 50 C and GPU is around 75 C... Is this normal? Can rise up to 70 C and 90 C when I use it heavily...

My laptop is AMD based Athlon X2, with NVIDIA Geforce GO 6150

The driver is the latest... Is it because of the GPU overclocking? If so, where can I check it and how to downclock it? I tried to check from the BIOS with no result, the only thing I can see is just an option to change the amount of dedicated graphic memory...

Thanks for the time... Sorry if I post this in a wrong thread, but I just want to know the normal operating temperature, cause I'm still newbie with AMD biggrin.gif Thanks again...
*
u have the same problem with me...my heat also like urs..

but im kinda surprise to hear that HP also got this problem...i tot the air ventilation is better than compact...

then i bet it must be the Geforce 6150's fault ady...im using V3415AU by the way...

i tried to underclock my GC as well, but so far still no progress...like 6150 already set not for ppl to overclock...

i used rivatuner, ntune, nv tray, some registry modding all canot..i also duno why...im blaming 6150 now....who can help us?
