does the phone emit sound to alert you when there's incoming whatsapp? or totally silent until you run the whatsapp? if it's the later, we'll miss a lot of messages

If it's a trademark and you even had it since Honor 6, I do not see any differences when anyone of us changing to Honor 8.

No, it wont emit sound, and you will not know there is incoming msg until you ON your phone and see badge number appear on the WhatsApp icon...

Pro: It train your six sense, you sense there is msg in, then you will go ON your phone and check

Con: You will get your client/boss scolding why you ignore to reply him/her on time

Yep that version and also i tick priority notification for whatsapp at app in setting

I'm on Kang rom .. since last night until now .. whatsapp notification seems so far so good ..still getting notification on the bar.

Well, from insider's news, H7 will have a taste of Android N, of course stock rom

** Heard Stock B380 solved whatsapp issue and improved fast charging

Currently right now we are running on his rom with B330 + B370 + B371 system partition table.

Basically B380 would might be slightly changes, and I think that is the reason he add up a lil bit portion of partition to adapt the new changes in B380.
I would also think that he wanted to keep his legacy (digikernel) to be use in any platform such as B330, B370, B371 & B380. Meaning that, if you are rooted and you are in different rom, you can still flash his kernel to benefit your own goals. (speed + stability + tweaks)

Yes. The kernel works on my B330 stock rom before (but root required).

Thing is everything else works except for that status bar notification. Tried PNF anyway but still the same.Telegram seems to be exhibiting the same issue as well.Rebooted and it's ok for several hours..then the problem starts again.

There is no proper step to solve this. Rumor said is going to have another update to solve. So you have to wait, otherwise move to custom rom may be your choice
