Hi, I was reading this thread and found out it is quite interesting.
I am also using Honor 7, Enhanced edition.

Model number: PLK-L01
Build: PLK-L01C636B130
CPU: Hisilicon Kirin 935
Android ver: 5.0.2
Kernel: 3.10.31-gf-21e110
EMUI ver: 3.1
Custom version: CUSTC636D001

Casing that I'm using:
http://www.lelong.com.my/huawei-honor-7-pu...7-01-Sale-I.htm

I have also rooted my phone. Of coz, i dun care about the warranty.
It took a while for me to root it. First I need to unlock the bootloader, require Huawei's portal.

Then I use SRK tool to install TWRP
SRK Tool Huawei Bootloader/ROOT/Recovery/Backup/Utility
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/de...r-root-t3383433

This SRK tool were not able to root my Honor 7e.

So I use Honor 7 Multi-Tool, to root it.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/ge...i-tool-t3281176

As for the Whatsapp notification issue. (Which i saw everyone had it too)
I also face it. Same like you guys. What I did to fix the notification:
Launch Phone Manager -> Notification Center -> Whatsapp -> Allow notification = I turn it off.
then i reboot my phone. later on, head back to the same place, enable Allow notification + Status bar + Banners + Lock Screen
Wallahhh, it solve my ridiculous whatsapp notification issue.
I done that during i had my honor 7 on the very 1st day.

Right now, i am planning to go for Marshmallow.
http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/375942-...l-2016-plk-l01/

Yes, I am aware of our "636B130" code.. and the link provided are meant for EU country. However, i saw that some developer said, our 636 would not matter for it.
What worse can it be, correct? I alrd root the phone.
Brick the phone? hmm.. correct.. i still have the warranty. If the phone brick, let it brick and send back to Huawei. Say that all of sudden, my Honor 7 cannot turn on. i dont know why. (that's what my heart telling me)
So, anyone with me? (happy.gif)

go, or no go? hehe

By the way, in order to upgrade to MM, we (130) users need to fall back to 100. then direct to 121.
from 121 can easily go to 180 and so on..

so.. what's holding me up? hehe.. waiting for my "otak mereng" come, then i proceed.
Yihaaa..

The query result of IMEI/MEID/MAC/SN"867898029333472"as below according to our system record

Product Model: PLK-L11

Warranty: Your device warranty is till 2017-02-24 in MALAYSIA.

So today i try on my device. (to upgrade to MM)

1. Confirmed my stock recovery is Stock (not TWRP)
2. Copy Full ROM B100 to Internal Storage - (according to process, require to downgrade)
3. System failed at 2% --> reboot, safely went in back in

####

4. Remove rom B100 from Internal Storage
5. Copy Full ROM B121 to Internal Storage - (according to process, if 100 failed, use 121)
6. Proceed to update --> Failed at 5%
7. Reboot, safely went back in

* Seems like our unit "636"B130 can't fit in either to downgrade or upgrade (yet)
* Nothing much to do now, and need for our Unit to have officially Marshmallow update. *sigh - finger cross*

So, just for future reference, anyone who would like to follow upgrade process at:
http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/375942-...l-2016-plk-l01/

it will not work. I tried it. Not to say waste of time, but i'm taking the effort, so that other people with 636B130 model will not repeating the same steps that i did.

So, that's all tongue.gif

Why not just try to flash recovery to TWRP, then use TWRP to flashed a XDA B330 rom (which is almost identical to EU stock) ?  That should work just fine
*
Sounds great. Have you try it? notworthy.gif

Anyway, I just done a fresh factory reset this morning. Everything is now freshly installed. Feel so good n fresh when everything is in stock mode. Guess what? I installed Whatsapp and I do not have any notification issue. Anyone who is still having Whatsapp notification issue would might want to do a factory reset thumbup.gif

Just a fyi: I lost my stock eRecovery after I root earlier (see my previous post). I tried to flash the stock eRecovery but it it doesn't seems to went well. So I use back TWRP - But, who cares. It still work for me. As long my phone is rooted, I am more than happy to start it fresh. rclxm9.gif
Reason for me to factory reset is because I was installing xposed installer v85 arm64 ver.
few method tested:
1. via apk installer
2. via TWRP

But no luck, so I move on bangwall.gif
(I thought Asus Zenfone 5 are tough, (coz I used zenfone 5 before) rupanya Honor 7 is tougher!) hehe. what a challenge.

I bought 64Gb Sandisk 48Mb memory card at Wangsa Walk (Jayacom shop) at RM72
Coz my existing 32Gb Kingston sucks! i can't format it, cant delete, can add new files / folder. - Yes i tried all options to erase the data / format. but still no go.
Anyone have Kingston local contact number so that I can claim my memory card? Or anyone tried to get a refund? I thought the warranty is about 5rs?

Thanks

bro, the rom is for eu, of coz will fail. u need to change region 1st then can flash. search xda for step & explanation. also u can use honor multi tool to automate the process for u. or u can use huawei upadate extractor flash manually then flash full rom. i wont bother though, the same phone same hardware/software, why i should go through the hassle to upgrade to MM. 1st & last honor phone for me. ranting.gif
*
Agreed. same thought for me earlier. But guess what, I had that Multi Tool & SRKTool Huawei-Stable-V1.0. (Which I am only able to root my device by loosing my original eRecovery)
Even I asked those folks in that forum whether our model compatible or not to flash it.
Refer here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/ge...t3281176/page28

according to them, it will work, just need to choose our Honor 7 model, which is PLK-L01.
Unfortunately, I went thru those hassle and it doesn't work at all. Purpose of me posting up those steps is for reference in future, for all our Honor 7 brother-hood out there for not trying to have the same dream like me (which I want to have MM update on Honor 7, Malaysia unit) tongue.gif
Last n not least, this would also be my last Honor for me. Overall, the phone is "okay" with 32Gb internal, "fact-tup" my ext-sdcard (which then leading my to purchase new card), 20Mp camera which doesn't seems like 20Mp, 3Gb of ram.. bla bla bla rtfm..

so, everyone here, i'm taking this opportunity to wish you guys Selamat Hari Raya + Happy Holiday + Drive Safely + see you guys around!

alright, done upgrade for MM.
seems like mine is using custom recovery (TWRP) so earlier, i had some issue to upgrade it.
so, i copy the dload folder with UPDATE.APP into both my local and memory card
i use the SRKToolHuawei-STABLE-V1.0-20160521 - select Install recovery 6.0 - choose Honor 7 - choose Install honor 7 Stock Recovery for Marshmallow

once the stock recovery complete, it will automatically update to that package, and walla, done marshmallow.
Exactly like fkinmeng said, only finger print ID is still remain, the rest, need to configure back. so, now looking forward to root it. awesome!

Summarize of my activity:
If you wish to do like me, here with the reference.

coming from Lollipop with TWRP, need to use SRK Tools bootloader, change it back to stock. Then proceed with upgrade.

* Marshmallow = Yes tongue.gif
* TWRP installed = Yes, follow this link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/de...r-root-t3383433
* Root = Yes, follow this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/ge...i-tool-t3281176 (you can only root with this tool. Can't use SRK Tool, I tested) bruce.gif
* xPosed installer = yes, I use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811 nod.gif
Step: 1. download arm64 (v86, sdk23) http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk23/arm64/
Step: 2. install the zip file via twrp
Step 3. once done, reboot will take LONGER like 20-30minutes
Step 4. when you're in, install XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha4.apk
Step 5. Enjoy xposed

Bugs found: bangwall.gif
* Slow charging = Yes, http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/ge...-t3351780/page3
- i might need to try factory default, after this. Anyone had issue after upgrade + then reset to Factory Default? Does it fix the slow charging? - nvm, i just did factory default. Confirmed, it is working now. rclxms.gif

Looking forward change to another ROM, thinking of YODA / Modaco - anything with B370 base. According to the thread, as long we are on MM base, should be okay to proceed with those ROM. i let you know if i success

My unit is forced update to MM, and reset more than 2 times. Still have slow charging issue
*
Yea, I understand the feeling. But there is always a way to downgrade back to Lollipop, if you want to. Then, you can choose not to upgrade marshmallow. (by theory, i think it should work)
But, what do you mean by your unit is being force to update Marshmallow? does it mean when you purchased, it is alrd MM?

Yup, i noticed Malaysia version is started with C636
How can he update his unit using Europe version? I did tried update B330 from that website, but system showed me failed after 2%

Btw, how is ur unit? Any whatsapp notification issue or slow charging issue?
*
You can scroll a bit up, and see my previous activity. Earlier after 1st time upgrade to MM, i had super-slow charging. So, after few research from XDA Forum, most of them suggest to perform a factory default. And yes, it does solve the charging issue.

I do not see any notification issue, those badges notification did appear correctly.
The only minor issue i had right now was - if my phone is idle (lock or close the screen) the Whatsapp notification did not waking up my screen. only sound & badges shows. So if I go directly into Whatsapp settings - Notifications - Popup notification - choose Always show popup = this really annoys me. So for now, i dun mind the notification did not waking up my screen, as long the badges + sounds are working, i can live with it tongue.gif

for whatsapp to wake your screen, need to enable it at lockscreen setting.

unless you did and it's not working, then too bad.

I'm sorry to hear that bro sad.gif
if u have extra time, maybe might want to
1. revert back to lollipop, then see if the fast charging working or not. then re-upgrade to marshmallow? cry.gif but, that will be such a tedious job.
2. Turn on airplane mode, then start to charging = see if there is any different. then reboot, perform normal charging, see if that method helps.
3. if still hv warranty, send back to Huawei, see what would they said.. confused.gif

I think honor 7e are worth to have, with the price range that being offer. Doesn't matter if its still on Lollipop or Marshmallow, root / no root.
Fingerprint + IR features + weight + screen size, for my opinion it suits very well with.

Anyway, I was thinking of buying this Xiaomi Redmi 3s (within that range + specs)

Anyone owned it and care to share your thoughts?

Thanks!

thanks. too many steps, I so noob, nowadays so outdated with phone. only wife got me this phone, if not still use old phone.  biggrin.gif

btw, I read few pages back, the 330 new firmware? how to get update? I'm running on 130. found an update to 310. any links to update from 310 to the latest one?

thanks in advance!
*
Okay let's do step by step.

I am assuming you are still on Lollipop. You need to decide whether to root now or upgrade to Marshmallow, then only root. What would be the differences? It will just make those steps a lil complicated. That's all laugh.gif

So, If you decided not to upgrade to Marshmallow and Remain in Lollipop:

1. Get your unlock code from Huawei
2. Install TWRP bootloader by using SRKToolHuawei-STABLE-V1.0-20160521 (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24549084345926497)
3. Once TWRP installed, you will forever loose your original bootloader sweat.gif (you need the original bootloader in order to upgrade to Marshmallow)
4. After successfully flash TWRP, you can root your phone with this tool here (https://www.mediafire.com/?kfz8xwxg9pm7hw6) , or link reference (http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/general/honor-7-multi-tool-t3281176)
5. That's it. you're done.

* wonder why you need 2 different tool just to flash the TWRP & Root? I can't answer that, coz i tested all method and this would be the best way.

Alright. So, If you decided to upgrade to Marshmallow, then only root:

1. Create a folder "dload" (exclude " symbol) in your Internal Storage or Memory Card
2. Download, Extract and copy file Update.app and paste it to the dload folder that you created earlier. Link here (http://www.mediafire.com/download/kilids9denz7qt2/UPDATE.rar) - I purposely upload it to my mediafire link, coz the original link are no longer available)
3. Go to Settings - Update - Menu - Update from local
4. Let it run, may take some time
5. Once done, i recommend you to confirm everything is working, such as Battery charging speed, whatsapp notification, Notification turn on screen are working.
6. If not working, i suggest you to perform a factory default and reconfirm
7. Assuming all above steps are done & you are happy with Marshmallow, you can proceed to root by referring on top step by step. Just make sure you read and choose which version of Android on that tool. thumbup.gif

* Those method work for me, i'm not saying it should work for you. Try it with your own risk, whistling.gif whistling.gif

But it says phone model G7, although the country code look familiar. hmm.gif

hey guys. a little help please. my phone stucked at honor now once I try to update from 130 to 310 (the unofficial file i found on the net). now stucked at honor logo.

I downloaded the full firmware for 130 again from official huawei website, and now I'm trying to get it on my phone. put it inside dload folder in my SD card, put in phone, tried the 3 button for update, but it said software installation failed. any help please?

ps: I messed up i know. @_@

You can try to download both tool that i provided the link earlier. That tools contains help if you stuck in bootloop. Make sure your computer that connect with your Honor7 have internet and ADB installed.
