hi ,
need some advise on my car issue. the heat meter will easy go up when I was in a jam or slow drive (with A/C is on). even I stop my car on a side (with A/C is turned on) while waiting someone the heat will go up also. but when I was drive in the high way there is no issue on heat go up.

what I try last night:
1) add water, start engine and A/C
2) after start my car (without on A/C), the fan is not turning
3) after I turn on A/C also the fan is no turning
4) start the car, turn on A/C, step on gas for a while, the fan still not turning

today:
1) start my car and turn on my A/C, in slow drive (near school area)
2) the heat starting go up
3) turn off the A/C until I reach highway only turn on A/C
4) there is no heat up during while I in highway until I reach my office
5) once I parked my car (the car is not moving), with A/C is on then the heat start going up

please advice

Radiator fan maybe the issue, I had the same symptoms with my Alza. The water in radiator was easily dried up and high temperature occured. Pomen said my fan radiator is 'kong', sometimes functioning sometimes not - reason for the overheat and aircond not cold while in traffic jam / car not moving.

Check with the mechanic is better.

sorry, I think I miss out one point also. after I parked my car I saw the fan is moving. this park really killing me =.="

Your radiator Fan kaput already.

Btw during initial car start-up the radiator fan not turning on due to the sensor not kicking in until the heat reach specific temperature.

I think I miss out one part, is when I parked my card I saw the fan is moving =.="

if the fan can still work, my friend did is wire a switch to keep the fan always on.
check your relays too.

This is just a short term temporary solution. There are consequences :

1. Fan running at full speed speed at all times will wear down the lifespan of the fan motor much faster.
2. All petrol engines has an optimal operation temperature of ~85C . Before hitting tht temperature, most modern cars will run their fuel mixture very rich. Therefore, all cars will try to get to that temperature as fast as possible to reduce fuel consumption and the engine lean down the fuel mixture once hitting optimal operation temperature. .So if u put the fan running at full speed all the time, it will make the engine warm up slower.. more maKan minyak. This is just like many ppl go remove the thermostat when it got jammed rather than replace it.

My dad car 2.0 liter engine dun have thermostat. Most of the time temperature really low. Fuel consumption really big different? The mechanic remove the thermostat bcoz the car always overheat when turn on the a/c & car not moving/slow move. Then i found that the ral prob is the clutch fan. Its moving but not as fast as it should. After i replace the clutch fan then didnt bother about the thermostat until real this topic.

1. slight wear yes.... but thats not really the main reason, go to 2
2. when the engine is cold, there is increased wear.... thats why we have that thermostat, and have the fan kick in when its warmer (and not too hot ofc)

1. fully agree. the bypass should be a temporary solution. my friend did install a switch at dashboard for the manual control of the fan.
2. at today's weather and aircon full blast, i think temp too low will not be an issue.

sobs ppl like me cry...

2)ada oil cooler
3)ac kinda nuts these few days, fan not coming on unless fan speed is set to max (probably just the blower resistor)

car barely has a chance to warmup haha thank god my place is so jammed up, it actually gets to warmup idling (rip petrol)

Removing the thermostat shouldn't be done. It will affect faster engine warmup and fuel consumption. This part have always been there by nearly all manufacturers of normal aspirated cars for a long long time. They wouldn't install it if it served no purpose. Of course replace it if its not working properly, use proper coolant, ensure the electric fan is working optimally (sensor switch on at the right temp, off later ). Cooling system must be optimum at all times for modern engines, not even one component should fail. The moment you see the temp as abnormal, get a competent mechanic to check. Of course you can DIY easily with the right tools and knowledge. Lastly, electric fan can fail, replace immediately when defective. I used to have an ole 2 litre BMW with clutch type fan, replaced it once during its lifetime. It was erratic and unstable temp. Good luck!

again... it will barely affect fc actually.... since it will still warmup, but take abit longer... its the wear and tear which you should fear.....

It does, but its not a lot. Maybe you see as negligible and tolerable. This is individual.

haha maybe i see it as negligible, my fc is horribad......

LOL!..maybe your car is with other problems.. age, wear n tear of engine also count for bad FC.

mine memang kuat minum, well known... other woners also report the terribad fc.... mines just exagerated due to silly rims + driven in jams

supposely when u switch on the aircond, fan should be blast some air to radiator,
in you case, go get a mechanic to check your fan system... change it

finally answer is out, the radiator fan finally is spoil. need to change.

Will affect fc so much?

The fc used should be the least of your worries.... The wear n tear due to running a cold engine should be more painful...

actually it's a very simple prob. fan motor. been there before..the fan is not working at 100%.. the pomen "ketuk" a bit my motor..it move. but have to replace it since i never knew when its going to kong again. cost me around rm240.

if that pomen rajin.

he can replace the carbon inside the fan...

but mostly the take the fan. and fix it.. sell it as recond

Foreman used to be the term, not "pomen". Anyway, foreman isn't exactly right. Foreman is usually to describe a team or group leader.
I rather buy a new fan motor than any reconditioned one. Its not worth reconditioning when there's other reasons an aged or defective fan motor will not last longer anymore like worn bearings, coil insulation can lead to short or open circuit anytime. Just replace to new..its supposed to be that.
