you should ask this question to the bank you are applying BT from.
bank could be base on monthly outstanding amount, or also lum sum base on the amount on 13th months or some other methods.

QUOTE(SneekPeek @ Sep 24 2018, 03:43 PM)
Which is the correct calculation?
BT 12k first 12 months 0% next 12 month 0.375% monthly

Method 1
Month 1 -12 : RM 6k/12 = RM 500 monthly
Month 13 -124 : (RM 6k*104.5%)/12 = RM 523 monthly

Total Interest : RM 270

Method 2
Month 1 -12 : RM 6k/12 = RM 500 monthly
Month 13 -12 : {RM 6k + (RM 12k*4.5%)}/12 = RM 545 monthly

Total Interest : RM 540

Method 3
Month 1 -12 : RM 6k/12 = RM 500 monthly
Month 13 : RM 500 + (RM6k*0.375%) : RM 525
Month 14 : RM 500 + (RM5.5*0.375%) : RM 521
Month 15 : RM 500 + (RM5k*0.375%) : RM 519

and so on..until

Month 24 : RM 500*0.375% : RM 502

Total interest : RM 147

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Oct 4 2018, 08:29 AM)
I am not sure also. So ask you to try.
Don't know how strict they want to comply (Syariah).
*
I have 2 MBB Islamic cards, both also can BT, no issue.
Very likely just technical issue, you should confirm with MBB CS.

Hi  ,how u do the bt? By maybank2u online banking?
*
M2U online banking and mobile app.
it doesn't really matter how I did, you need to get in touch with CS to resolve the issue.

4.99% is super high, especially as most of us only go for 0% offers. Lifetime tenure is basically a debt trap...
*
yes, agree with @lilsunflower said.
many "normal rates" from other banks can beat that.
in fact i keep getting calls offering 2.x% or 3.x% and begging me to take.

Normal MBB response to BT applications very quick.

I appplied a BT on last friday, but I'm still not being notified on the status. Anyone applied recently and no updates from MBB too?
*

Hi guys, I have a dilemma. Recently not working for quite awhile now, but will be resuming next month. I have a maybank 2 card with 5k due soon, and a pb quantum that I just settled. My concern is that I owe PTPTN around 26k and would like to make use of the 20% discount by end of this year (21k after less).

The thing is, I currently have around 24k as my savings and would like to settle both PTPTN and maybank 2 card without getting charged by interest. Would it be wise to use BT from pbb 0% to pay my current 5k in maybank or is it better if I use PB flexipay 0% to pay for my PTPTN? I just need to get through until end of December .. ><
*
whats ur available credit left in PBB?

7k.
*
ok. deposit 20k into the PBB card, with that your available limit will be 27k
then BT the 5k MBB FIRST, and swipe the 21k PTPTN for 6mth flexipay.

with that, you will have some savings left, and also u will not need to pay anything to PBB for few mths as you have a credit of 20k, each month will deduct around 4.5k.

Even if you top up the CL yourself (by adding cash into your limit), I don't think it will work because that's not your real CL and cannot do 0% flexipay.

*
been there, done it for many times (and still doing), the most recent one was approved earlier this month smile.gif
outstanding more than CL brows.gif

Interesting...would it affect your future credit application since you have utilised >100% of your credit limit? Trying to understand if there is any negative impact for doing this.  hmm.gif
*
yes definitely.
however you can choose to pay lumsum to bring it down end of month, and CCRIS will be updated by 15th following month.

Based on this, seems like limit is 80% of available limit, not credit limit, for PBB's balance transfer.

But how did you lamode get outstanding of more than CL? Cash infusion as above? Wouldn't that mean outstanding still less than CL?
*
yes, its based on available limit, however i am not too sure about the 80% ( i managed to BT up to 90%++) although its mentioned in the T&C, maybe hit and miss thing.
I believe the outstanding in CCRIS is taken from "Authorised Charges" in PBE, which is higher than CL in my case.

Tried applying for Affinbank recently for the balance transfer. But unlike other banks where can apply/send form online, a customer service person wanted to meet me personally to sign form? Wondering if this is normal? Paranoid, not a scam right? ;p
*
if you want 100% safe, ask them send the form to Branch, and you will drop by to sign..

Greetings sifus,

For AEON Credit balance transfer, does anyone know any email/other channel that I can send the application form to? In their BT form, only saying fax to 03-7863 7800. Fax seems a little bit outdated in this era.

Thanks for any replies
