Hi, I've been trying to find out information about USB modes. What are the differences between turbo mode, normal mode and mass storage device?

Will it affaect my charging rate?

is it normal for my phone to be charging overnight and still not reaching 100%?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
*
hehe actually not so sure myself, saw the setting & just change it to turbo but I dun think any diff in charging time..still around 3 hr...

actually i have an issue with it charging thru the USB cable ....isn't it so that for lithium batts to last longer - u have to charge full and let it drain to near zero before charging again.  ?  something to do with the batt's memory ? and seeing as i'm syncing with the pc so often throughout the day - in effect i'm charging the pda 5-6x /day .... even when it doesn't need to . theres registry hacks to stop it from charging completely from the usb cable ..but it would be better to have a software switch to satrt/stop charging IMHO ? no ?
*
Yes it is no good to plug un & out....Although some said no memory effect in Litium Ion but I will stick to charging only <10% life. (Which is not easy sometime...) Or else what I did is if u just need to copy files between PPC to PC or vice-versa, Just invest in universal card reader & it is also faster in that sense rather than active-sync.

Actually in the older WM2003, there is an option to USB charge & not to USB charge ..but in WM5 ..This option is not available!! cry.gif cry.gif ..Hope some smart elec know how to tweak...

@ tester : I've not personally used any of those sms/mms backup applications before. But i believe you can backup via Jeyo sms like the software that is bundled with O2 Atom and the likes. I've also DLed this free app i.e. sms import, forgotten where i found it so google might help?

BTW..probably another GREAT NEWS.....yet to confirm as I'm waiting reply from ASUS.....seems like ASUS oledi released WM6 upgrade few days ago!!! (To be precise..3/7/07!..i.e earlier than D810!)..Check this out...(But beware..there are diff versions of France, Thai, HK, Taiwan & International?....)

WM6 Upgrade???

Anyone try b4 hmm.gif hmm.gif drool.gif drool.gif

Added on July 10, 2007, 12:34 pmOpss after reading the Asus Forum..Looks like the V4.7.0 is actually ROM update b4 WM6..They have released French, Thai, HK & Taiwan version but I think English version within this few days....

BTW, I realised that my ROM is V4.3.0 ...din update it since I bot the phone..Is it wise to update directly to V4.7.0 and skips earlier release in Mar'07?? hmm.gif hmm.gif

New user reporting in! biggrin.gif

I've read that some of you got the external antenna for GPS.

How does it look like and how much would it cost? I got my 6110 Navigator to work in my V-Kool protected car, but somehow couldn't get the P535 to detect any signal. Sigh...

Thanks. smile.gif

Bro Sonyclie..u going to 8th Civic club TT tomolo..ho..probably I be there too....can show it to u if I'm free tomolo..diff nick there... biggrin.gif

@Strik3..SirfIII chipset although superior to others interm of accuracy of the recorded tracks as what I compare between my old HP6515 (Globallocate), but acquiring satelite seems to me abit slow too..probably bcos no AGPS system (U need to download every 7 days of current satelite locations via internet if u used Globallocate chipset)...Probably Nokia is using another chipset as wel but I hv not seen the accuracy of the tracklog if plotted using mapedit or mapsource....Anyway..there will be another huge tt of >20 ppl Tonite at AmanSuria..so probably can show to Sony how the antenna works...So got ur antenna oledi??

BTW..it really sickening waiting for WM6 upgrade....1 Asus owner from Sweden hv even resorted to download the Thai Version succesfully....Hmnnn Anyone wanted to try.... hmm.gif hmm.gif biggrin.gif

@ stimix:  Interesting. The AGPS sounds mafan to use leh. I rather wait for a bit than to DL sat locations every 7 days. I've yet to buy the antenna, waiting for the fren who came with me that day to confirm his decision. I think the MCX smaller antenna package is ok right? I've totally no idea which is suitable and which is not. Wat ya think?
*
As mentioned earlier no problemo......

BTW..For all users of P535...I have succesfully upgraded my V4.3.0 ROM to 4.3.15 (malaysia) & thereafter Internationa Radio ROm of V4.7.0..

Both upgrades are essential before the upcoming WM6.....Although having hard time to re-istall everything esp the ever com port conflict of GPS Proxy & Garmin )

& FYI..AFTER UPGRADING..EVRYTHING RUNS FASTER INCLUDING ACQUIRING SATELITE SIGNAL....now much faster than globallocate chipset...probably the V4.7.0 done wonders....

Yep.Road tracking tested wth new ROM moment ago..accuray now much-much better than the avg GPS proxy accuracy of 6.7-10M reproted previously to 5.4M-7.8M rite now after the ROM update.... rclxms.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

However the plotted line almost similar wth previous findings i.e much better than Globallocate chopset of HP65 series...proabanly bcos can see only 10 satelites just now compare to normal max 12 satelites...(Dunno why but Evening time around this time satelites always less hmm.gif hmm.gif )

ha ha ha....LOL......ULTRA aerodynamic design......you sure made my day........

*
Ha..just check wth Sonyclie in person..hint..slightly cheaper after taking only 1G instead of 2G....so the RM2099 probably a display unit.... biggrin.gif wink.gif

Hehe..u all din refer to Sonyclie spoiler huh?...He bot it for RM2,288 lah wth 1G Mini SD..If wth 2G will be slightly cheaper than what I got at RM2,388...so price din drop so much-lah... biggrin.gif ..The RM2,099 probably a display or 2nd hand set as the buyer himself din denied...

@ sony: I think this antenna (Code:GART3X ) found on this link http://www.pc-mobile.net/gpsant.htm is smaller than Stimix's. Anyway, this is the package that I plan to purchase, hehe.

Yes mine is the Gillson antenna which is bulky....the one in pc mobile is sligtly smaller but u will be suprise that both Sony & me saw yesterday..The ext ant is damn tiny....but too bad it's came wth the Kenwood GVN52 Garmin satelite navigation system (also running on malsingmaps!).......Pheww.. that bro really know how to appreciate ICE...RM20K setup!! shocking.gif shocking.gif
