QUOTE(idoblu @ Jun 19 2016, 09:29 AM) I went back to the new/old banh mi recently. They have a much more extensive menu and this time (unlike the first time I went back soon after they moved) the service was OK. So now got two decent Vietnamese place within a stone's throw of each other in Puteri 7. I can actually walk there from where I live We now also have at least one authentic Thai place in Puchong. Unfortunately so far, I don't seem to see any authentic Sichuanese, Hunanese and other regional Chinese places. |

KUALA LUMPUR: There is no getting away for errant policemen as the public can now easily report them on Facebook.
Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) is ready to accept reports against its personnel via the popular social media platform. Since its formation on July 25, 2014, a total of 46 reports have been filed via its Facebook page “Jabatan Integriti dan Pematuhan Standard PDRM”. Most of them were complaints about policemen who gambled or got involved in social vices. They would usually give information about the venue and even provide photographs as evidence. JIPS director Comm Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman said this was part of the department’s efforts to reach out to the public and strengthen the integrity of the men and women in blue. In view of the millions of Facebook users in Malaysia, he said the JIPS wanted to encourage people to share information of any wrongdoing or misconduct of police personnel. “We have been doing this since the department was set up almost two years ago. “We have seen a lot of things going viral on Facebook, so instead of voicing their complaints or whatever information they have, they can come straight to us so we can act on it. “Many people are unaware that they can lodge a report against our personnel on Facebook but I believe the trend will change. “We are ready to receive these complaints,” he said in an interview. However, Comm Jalaluddin said many Malaysians still preferred to convey their complaints by writing letters, adding that 4,275 were received since 2014. “We have 18 channels for the public to choose from but based on our statistics, the majority of complainants prefer to lodge reports via letters. “The problem is that most complainants would give very vague information and do not leave their contact details,” he said. Comm Jalaluddin said that the second most popular method was through police reports. “To date, we have received 1,646 reports via police reports while 1,554 were done through Rakancop and 945 filed at the JIPS complaints management branch,” he said. Other ways for the public to lodge a report include over-the-counter, by telephone, e-mail or fax, or through the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam). I'm not a native of Puchong, just wanted to highlight a 'misleading' road here.
Location (refer to the red star): ![]() For vehicles coming from this road, you can turn left or right (see also on-road turn signage). Turning left will lead you to the road which I've pinpointed above: ![]() This is the view of the road in question. After the junction on the left is a one-way road (coming towards you, if looking at the photo). Problem is the no entry sign, though having 2 placed at the road side, are not visible enough, even more at night time (poor lighting to flood the road and signage). ![]() Lucky I was at a considerably slow speed, no incoming traffic except for 2 traffic officers on bikes. They stopped me on the roadside informing it was a one-way road. Made a U-turn and enter that junction. Feedback from Puchong based drivers ? |
