QUOTE(jjj2 @ Mar 28 2018, 03:57 PM) Hi, I see, btw what should i need to be aware during installation? I'm abit worry about how the fiber cable will be routed inside my living room.Unlike previously, nowadays Installation scheduling has improved a lot as within 5 to 7 days able to get it installed. Unless facing port or fiber core fully utilised issue etc. Thanks. |

QUOTE(jjj2 @ Mar 28 2018, 05:07 PM) Hi, Thank you so much so this valuable info, looking forward to enjoy the rocket speed broadband A couple of things to take note. 1) Cabling method (surface), drilling or not, where to drill etc, discuss with SI first, after both party agreed with the routing & extra charges (if any), then only start. 2) Cabling route, discuss with SI which route you prefer to achieve minimal & barely noticable cabling. 3) Discuss with SI on Router positioning to achieve optimal performance. 4) Prepare 1-3 / 1-4 power extension sockets. 5) Observe the optical power reading (- xx.xx dBm) after the FIC connector has been done. 6) After Installation is done, perform speedtest (cabled & wireless) and test making phone calls. 7) Sign the docket...& welcome to rocket speed ! 8) (Optional) Serve SI some drinks ...coz they are pretty tired rushing for several Installations per day ...Lol Feel free to buzz me if you need help Thanks ! |

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Apr 2 2018, 01:14 PM) Yes bro. It is definitely good. No compatibillity issues if you buy from China, but no warranty from Asus Malaysia of the router have any problems. You will have to send it back to China. Thanks bro, about the warranty yup i understand that but the price cheaper almost 50% i think it is good, just hope it won't spoiled easily. |

QUOTE(skywardsword @ Apr 2 2018, 03:26 PM) I bought from China rt-86u. Works fine. I was flashing Merlin, the eventually switch back to stock and update to latest. Don't be lazy, clear nvram, and you should have a semi stable router. I still need to reset it every few weeks. Thanks for your info, actually a part from AC1200 that Time provided i have another AC1750 which i used it for Unifi, still thinking whether to buy the Asus router or not.Unifi 100mbps. I must say tplink c7 have better range. But it rt-86u Ac is alot better for the 5ghz. Btw just done the installation here is the result, ping result is 4ms, is it good? Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Apr 2 2018, 04:30 PM) Very good bro. The AC1750 which is the Archer C7 should be more than sufficient for you, and you don’t need to buy the Asus router unless you want more advanced features. Thanks for your advice bro, than i think i will just continue using the AC1750 after i cancel the Unifi broadband. |

QUOTE(jjj2 @ Apr 4 2018, 07:31 PM) Hi, Thanks for your help You can wait 1 - 2 days as the selfcare takes some time to reflect. If it does not, you may go to https://modification.time.com.my to perform the service modifications. Feel free to buzz me should you require further assistance. Thanks. I shall wait for 1-2days if nothing changed then i will use the link you provided to request for change. |

QUOTE(yeapch01 @ Apr 5 2018, 07:27 AM) Dear bro off topic: I'm selling my 4 months old Tplink Archer C7, https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=4556760&hl=, let me know if anyone interested. If you have budget less than RM 500 , you can consider tenda Ac 18 or Tp link Archer c7. Of course Asus router rt -ac68u is a preferred choice for budget below RM 1k. Thanks |

QUOTE(GreenSamurai @ Apr 6 2018, 11:05 PM) Scheduled for tomorrow then just sms me telling the fiber is not ready so have to postpone. If not ready then shouldn’t open registration for my apartment. Now I have cancelled my unifi and no internet for potentially two weeks as I am not available on the weekdays and next weekends I am going outstation. I must say I am a bit disappointed with time in this. You shouldn't cancelled your Unifi so fast, i only cancelled my Unifi after 2days Time broadband has installed to ensure everything is ok. |

Do u guys think that the wifi adapter has compatibility issue with the router? Now i'm changing to Asus RT-AC86U, the wifi adapter i'm using is TPlink AC1300 or known as Archer T4UHP, just did the speedtest and the download speed is only 4mbps while upload speed is 97mbps, using my laptop & Note 8 i can get around 100mbps both download & upload speed. Anyone can comment on this problem?

I remember my AC1200 which provided by Time the firmware already updated to the latest version, i used it for 2 weeks honestly i don't have any issue with it but due to hand itchy and can't resist for the price of Asus RT-AC86U, i had get rid of the AC1200.

QUOTE(jamespaul @ Apr 26 2018, 06:00 PM) My main concern is coverage and signal strength. I know the C7 has higher theoretical speeds. But signal seems weaker in other areas Based on my experience if you want routers which have strong signal Asus is the one to go.N bandwidth is decent enough for 100Mbps? |
