Unlike previously, nowadays Installation scheduling has improved a lot as within 5 to 7 days able to get it installed.
Unless facing port or fiber core fully utilised issue etc.

A couple of things to take note.

1) Cabling method (surface), drilling or not, where to drill etc, discuss with SI first, after both party agreed with the routing & extra charges (if any), then only start.

2) Cabling route, discuss with SI which route you prefer to achieve minimal & barely noticable cabling.

3) Discuss with SI on Router positioning to achieve optimal performance.

4) Prepare 1-3 / 1-4 power extension sockets.

5) Observe the optical power reading (- xx.xx dBm) after the FIC connector has been done.

6) After Installation is done, perform speedtest (cabled & wireless) and test making phone calls.

7) Sign the docket...& welcome to rocket speed !

8) (Optional) Serve SI some drinks ...coz they are pretty tired rushing for several Installations per day ...Lol

Yes bro. It is definitely good. No compatibillity issues if you buy from China, but no warranty from Asus Malaysia of the router have any problems. You will have to send it back to China.

I bought from China rt-86u. Works fine. I was flashing Merlin, the eventually switch back to stock and update to latest. Don't be lazy, clear nvram, and you should have a semi stable router. I still need to reset it every few weeks.

Unifi 100mbps.

I must say tplink c7 have better range. But it rt-86u Ac is alot better for the 5ghz.

Very good bro. The AC1750 which is the Archer C7 should be more than sufficient for you, and you don’t need to buy the Asus router unless you want more advanced features.

If you have budget less than RM 500 , you can consider tenda Ac 18 or Tp link Archer c7.

Of course Asus router rt -ac68u is  a preferred choice for budget below RM 1k.

Hi guys, i have successfully installed my new TIME 100mbps plan.
Just curious, does the installer provided the deck phone together with modem and router?
For mine, is without phone, or this is normal? 

Scheduled for tomorrow then just sms me telling the fiber is not ready so have to postpone. If not ready then shouldn’t open registration for my apartment. Now I have cancelled my unifi and no internet for potentially two weeks as I am not available on the weekdays and next weekends I am going outstation. I must say I am a bit disappointed with time in this.

Offtopic abit, how much are you getting for AC86U?

My main concern is coverage and signal strength. I know the C7 has higher theoretical speeds. But signal seems weaker in other areas

N bandwidth is decent enough for 100Mbps?
