just called TIME and they are having a RM100 discount for the first bill if you apply online. Fingers crossed... I won't be like those guys that complain about bad connection

BTW They are giving free D-Link DIR-850L should be okay right or need to get another modem?

Getting 100Mbps package

For normal house around 800--1000 sq ft, it is good enough.

Hi guys, I am still thinking of either getting TIME or Unifi, I was leaning more towards TIME previously (for obvious reason) but recently I've heard a people complains saying that their TIME internet connections were unstable, lost of connections every now and then, is this true to anyone else here?

By the way, I live in Bayan Lepas, Penang
*

Thanks for reply, yeah. I prefer to plug right into the modem but I found one with 1 internet port + 4 port lan below.
tp-link-ac900-wireless-dual-band-wifi-router-archer-c20 (lazada). Not sure if got the ppoe to connect to time. But the lazada ads said can be used with time/unifi/maxis

edit: i found a console emulator for that / http://www.tp-link.co.za/emulators.html and it does have ppoe.
*
Tp-link AC20 is workable with TIME Fibre.

P/S : This unit is AC750 (2.4GHz @ 300Mbps & 5GHz@433Mbps) & not AC900, Advisable to get at least AC1200 & above.

Hi Guys, I need a cheap wifi router with AP function. Got any recommendations?
Thanks smile.gif

Hi Bro,

Can be more precise ? What is your expectations on its coverage, bandwidth & budget ?

For budget constraint, both TP-Link & Tenda would be good choices.

Hi Bro, my room couldn't get good signal from my main router so I'm planning to put an affordable wifi router in my room. I already have wired connection for my PC in my room so I'm planning to get a wifi router or AP that will have extra LAN port for my PC.
*
Hi Bro,

You may go for TP-Link/Tenda/Mi Router for budgetry concern, all these routers can function as AP.

Thanks.

So there's no restrictions to any sites? Unlike TM, where we need to change the default dns to public/google dns to access certain sites?

And do you happened to know the current default router by TIME?
*
No blocking.

For 100 & 300Mbps, D-link DIR850L is given.
For 500Mbps, Linksys EA6350 is given.

Thanks.

im pretty sure Time's own DNS blocks certain websites, especially those porn sites. I've come across that page a few times when on Time's own DNS.

Currently on the maxis-astro package and wanted to jump over to Time.
Staying at Sri Petaling. Any problem i should take note for that area?
I know Time is available at my condo but can it support 100mb. How can i check?
When i wanted to get > 10mb everyone is telling me the condo infra wont be able to support > 10mb so no point...
*
If your condo is within coverage, for sure 100Mbps is able to support.

But bear in mind that is tested with cabled connection, for Wifi (due to several factors) you may/ may not be able to get up to that speed.

Thanks.

Yes, a land line number is provided...if Klang Valley, it will be 03.

You can also install TIME Home Forward apps on your mobile, enables you to use this land line number whereever you go.

Thanks.
